About Interceptor UFO Detection Mechanics

Hello.
As the title says, I am wondering about the interceptor UFO detection in Long war.
How much detection % does an interceptor actually give, and do firestorms give a larger %?
Do interceptors always provide this detection, or do only ready/non-repairing ones do?
Does the number of satellites in the country alter this interceptor-provided %?
I am really just wondering how viable having a large number of interceptors would be as compared to satellites (and how much they actually contribute on a continent with non-full satellite coverage).
