Hi all,
My layered defense guns were packing large infrared lasers ever since I built them and unlocked IR laser tech (admittedly without researching any specific IR weapons, they just started that way). Giving me several hundred in defense. Recently, the aliens landed and suddenly my layered defense grids were downgraded to tiny 8-inch cannons!!!! Is this a bug? Or a feature? If it is a feature, can someone explain why my 400+ defense stats went down to 3 overnight?

Unless you in the meantime updated the game to a different version it looks like a bug so I would suggest you to report it with saves before and after the issue (the best ones would probably be just before and just after).
