Weird Army Mechanics

Post by Johan Van Beuran »

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but I have been having a problem with the AI abusing a loophole in the diplomatic system while fighting wars. For some reason a country who is allied with a country who is at war with you, but is not themselves at war, can send armies to clear your occupation of their allies territories from you, even though they can't actually fight you. The result is the neutral army retaking an enemy territory controlled by you, without taking any damage because they didn't fight you (then how did they clear the occupation?) while your own forces just sit there and wait for them to do it, because you can't fight them since you aren't at war (again if no fighting took place... then how did they clear the occupation?) Then your army has to immediately begin fighting again to re-occupy a territory they were already occupying while the neutral army constantly "fights" to reduce your occupation... but cant be damaged because they aren't "fighting"...... this whole situation makes absolutely no sense what so ever and is something that has become an increasingly common tactic that the AI uses in my games. Please remove the ability for any country not at war with the enemies of its allies to affect the occupation status of its allies when they have been invaded.
