How do you protect your stations from being stolen by enemy agents?

Post by McInch »

Hi guys!

Tell us more about how to protect stations and ships from being captured by hostile factions? Stations are constantly stolen from me, although I do missions to protect them and have built barracks for the marines.

Describe it in the form of an algorithm. Doing this, or doing this.. Or describe the best way to protect them?

I've been trying to find an enemy faction agent in space, but apparently they're taking over the station and moving on to the next one. How to guess which station needs to be protected? And it is completely incomprehensible how to make a station or a ship impregnable from capture.

Enemy agents need Control Space Asset and Undercover trait to steal your stations. Assassinate any enemy agent with this combo. (And try to sign Non Aggression Pacts with some factions).

I found that enemy councils not only with trait undercover, may steal space station.

Increase the Loyalty stat of your own councilors. The average Loyalty of your own councilors is a major factor in the base difficulty of that mission.
Building a Marine Platoon Barracks on the station significantly increases the difficulty of the action as well. The module project is unlocked through the Militarisation of Space global tech.
Generally increasing the crew size of the station also increases difficulty to flip. Tier 2 Orbitals with 10 module slots will be much harder to flip than early-game Platforms with just 4.
The mission becomes much easier if you have a negative Influence income, even if you're not at zero influence. Avoid going over your CP Management cap.
Likewise, avoid going over your MC cap and having negative Resource and Boost incomes. Those are also factors that drastically reduce the difficulty of flipping station control.

The chance of enemy councilors taking over your space asset depends on multiple things. There are also rebellions in your ships or stations.

1, Loyalty of your councilors.
2, Mission Control.- If you go over limits into red, rebellions have a higher chance to occur and enemy counselors are able to take over your asset fairly easily.
3, Resources.- If you have shortages in resources what stations need. They are more likely to start rebelling..
4, Station protection. - battlestations and garrison platforms do not give you just defense in space battles. They also add more defense against enemy councilors who attempt to take over your asset.
5, Enemy habitats on the same orbit having garrison modules. Every such module on orbit gives a faction boost for councilors to take over assets.

So how do you defend your stations? Make sure you have high loyalty, enough resources and defense platforms in your habitats. Then you don't need to worry about “take over space asset” ability anymore. You can also reinforce with councilors your habitat under construction. At Least until your habitat is powered and have defensive platforms.
