Soldiers cannot jump through windows or low cover

Second mission with these types of windows. All buildings have them and they all cannot be broken. I can still(sometimes) shoot through them and they break, but I can't walk through them. I can't enter any building except through doors.
Disabled all mods except LW2(1.1) just to make sure and the bug persists.

Check whether there's an obstacle on the other side. You can't smash through a window and vault over a couch in the same action, for some reason.

That's that same window from the inside. Clearly no obstacles. And again, it's like that for all of them, not just this one and not even just on this mission. Image

Very strange. Are you using any custom map/parcel/etc. packs?

Same problem, but its not just windows, they can't hop over barriers or jump down buildings.

Hi!

I think i had the same problem. Instead of only windows, i couldn't jump over any half cover. This was for the whole map and not for a single building. Example below:

This happened on a personnel rescue mission. The map was generated with 1.1 installed but the campaign save was made before. It was pretty damn harsh to notice that i couldn't get to the pick up point on the roof over a half cover. This was doubly hard to get past as i had to jump down from the roof to run around the building, but i couldn't jump down from the roof except from the spots that had ladders/pipes as i couldn't jump over the half cover on the sides of the roof.

Edit: Running on windows 7, no other mods, currently LW2 1.1, Ironman so can't give a save for the mission. I haven't started another mission after this as i don't want to lose people for playing when tired.

Hopping over short cover objects

Soldiers unable to hop over short cover resulting in severly impaired movement.
Saving and reloading seems to have no impact on resolving the issue

Also had the same problem, but only started today.

Soldiers cannot jump through unbroken windows.
Soldiers will no jump over half cover - has happened on two different maps.

No other mods installed. windows 10.

had the same thing happen, but only started today - worked normally before that - no other mods installed.

windows 10 - on two different maps.

soldiers cannot break windows via movement.
soldiers cannot jump any half cover

Soldiers can no longer path over obstacles

Strange bug, on my most recent missions my squad was unable to jump down from ledges, go through windows, leap over half cover obstacles, all pathing had do be done the long way, up and down ladders, through doorways, around small obstacles they would normally just leap over.

I have a number of mods installed, but I've played 10 or so missions since the update before the problem started.

I noticed it too. Easiest example are trikes. Soldiers just won't jump over it no matter what and will always go around, even though it acts as half cover.

I ran into the same problem last night, apparently we're all playing a city rescue mission. In addition to not being able to jump through windows and other stuff already listed, I've noticed that the building where the hostages were, I could not go up two sets of stairs that was connecting the two cell rooms (like a bridge over a hallway) within the building and had to go around the outside.

I took a look at the save in Atom, and if I'm understanding it correctly the plot seems to be "Plot_CTY_vlgObj_PedShoppingCenter_01_LW".
If someone from Pavonis would like a save (mod list), please PM me.

Low obstacle bug?

Not sure if this is intended or not. It may be. But from what i experienced since now almost all low cover obstacle such a this were easily jumped over by soldiers. This costed me a couple of guy lives, i'd like to know if it's supposed to be insurmountable so i can pay more attention next time or it's a bug.

Like, the floor is on the same level there is just this low cover railing i always jumped over since i can tell

Been seeing the same issue with windows and half cover on some missions but not all.

No custom maps plots or parcels. No mods that should be affecting this. Sent track_two a save file with it happening.

Have seen windows and half cover both happen on at least two different maps, different kinds each time.

EDIT: Now including all bug report information

I'm having a similar issue but with SPARKs. For some reason the SPARK in this mission can't get off this building at all. Every other soldier and the VIP were fine to jump down the drainpipes but the SPARK can't go anywhere, although I did manage to get him down to this balcony and back up again.

Tried every edge of the roof and it doesn't show any valid route down:

Circumstances: Began a VIP extraction mission with a SPARK, spawned on a high rooftop. Started campaign with 1.0 so got SPARK early

Starting a new campaign in 1.1, three city extraction maps in a row were horribly broken. The only mods used were gotcha, show health values and capnbubs accessories.

The first was a rebel rescue, the bugs I noticed were:
1. A soldier to be rescued started outside the prison building next to the cell.
2. Grenade targeting visuals were broken, with floors not highlighting. Floor highlights worked normally in the street sections of the map, but were sporadic in buildings and parks.
3. An advent soldier took cover behind a column but was incorrectly considered flanked.
4. I didn't get vision on the evac zone.

The second was an engineer rescue, the map was way too big, took 10 turns of sprinting around the edge to get to the evac in time.

The third was an engineer escort, the evac zone was again like 10 turns of sprinting away, grenade targeting visuals were bugged again, and I couldn't jump windows or low cover.

This appears to be a problem that is specific to two or more maps. I've only confirmed it on two that we made some changes to for 1.1.

A temporary workaround is to go into the file XCOMParcels.ini and put a semicolon in the front of the two following lines, which will comment them out and remove them from play:

+arrPlots=(MapName="Plot_CTY_vlgObj_PedShoppingCenter_01_LW", strType="CityCenter", ExcludeFromStrategy=false, ObjectiveTags[0]="CityCenter", ObjectiveTags[1]="LargePlot")
+arrPlots=(MapName="Plot_CTY_vlgObj_PedShoppingCenter_02_LW", strType="CityCenter", ExcludeFromStrategy=false, ObjectiveTags[0]="CityCenter", ObjectiveTags[1]="LargePlot")

If you are seeing it and using the console, you can enter the console command X2DebugMap, then click "show map" and it should give the name (which starts with Plot_). If it's something other than the above maps, please report the mapname here.

I've resolved the issue for the next patch.

Is the bugged part only the windows/low cover and grenade targeting, or are the distant spawns bugged as well? 9 full dashes and one blue move for 12 mob soldiers to make to it evac leaves just 2-3 turns to do anything other than run around the outside streets, at least before officers.

I'm guessing that mission was already queued up when you edited the ini, so it looked for the map and couldn't find it. The fix I posted would only prevent it from being queued up in future missions, sorry.

Hi Johnny,

I've just seen this too. Thanks for the reply, but I see 2 XCOMParcels files. One in DLC2/Config and One in DLC3/Config.

Is that right? Should I edit both of them?

So this removes two of the horrifically large rescue/extraction maps? I might just leave the file edited after the next patch.
