How to extract resources from hacked lamposts?

Sometimes lamposts for successful hacks offer resources - alloy or supply caches etc.
When I succeed at such a hack and then extract, on the loot screen I get something like:
Does it mean that hacking for resources is pointless, as they are going to be lost either way? Is it only useful on missions without timers, where you manage to obtain corpses etc? Or do you have to do something (what?) to actually extract those resources after a successful hack?
