What is purpose of Flush?

Gunner Flush is on the same position with demolition, which is very good versus cover. flush inflicts no damage. what is Dev's intention about Flush?

Flush makes the target flee from its current spot, thus activating Overwatch and possibly Suppression (haven't tested it yet). If you have two gunners on your team, one focusing on area suppression and the other on the more mobile, SAW gunner side of the tree, you can make a pretty good combo.

Lay an area suppression and Overwatch (possibly with a Ranger) and then Flush your target.

It literally depends on how would you like to build your team - if you go for more explosives and destruction, go for Demolition. If you go with more Suppression and Overwatch, go with Flush.

flush is good for getting an intrenched pod out of high cover. used it once to turn a pod into sniper food.

Demolition is superior to me. But I see Flush having some nice synergies with some overwatch oriented classes. I guess it boils down to play-style.

Suppression + Flush in LW1 used to be an awesome combo, but with suppression nerfs in LW2 I don't know if it's worth.

If you need to advance then destroying cover hurts you. Flush lets you kill the bad guy and then hide in his cover vs the next one.

Also it usually forces them away from you. I use it to keep some enemies out of firing range as a soft control.

Last it has higher hit chance so it's great if you use red fog and are hurt.

i found that Flush against heavy cover is not good. it works only with actual hit so it needs high aim.

Well, you need to have a downside to the ability, if it was an automatic hit it would be overpowered. :)

That said, you can also use it on targets even out in the open to make them run into acid/fire/proximity mines.

I am not sure to be honest, it needs some testing !

Good thing I have two Gunners with Flush and one of them has abysmal Aim (65).

Its better with rangers/specialists since they
It also combo's well with flame throwers (force an enemy to run through the flames). It breaks overwatch. It also works (iirc) on enemies not even in cover which can have some value to push melee/robots out of whatever space they're in.

I believe flush has a lower cooldown, otherwise I would never consider it.
