Make Single Target Suppression Useful vs Area Suppression?

Post by Surrealistik »

Would be nice if single target Suppression had some premium vs area Suppression to make it at least situationally useful by comparison, even if only for the Gunner/heavy weapons; giving the suppressing target Covering Fire + Cool Under Pressure vs the suppressed target for example (if the target triggered reaction fire with an attack, that attack would still take the Suppression aim penalty).

It uses less starting ammo.

It also won't fire on any other target potentially depleting ammunition before the main target moves.

Suppression is available to several other classes, any bonuses it gains directly devalue the Gunner's innate ability.

The bonuses in this case would likely only apply to Gunners. Similar to how all classes can hack but only SPARKS and Specialists can do it from range.

But still, Gunners and Lone Suppression don't seem too weak. I'd just be thankful area suppression is quite strong.

They're both super situational and marginal benefits, especially when you build Gunners to have insane effective ammo capacities (as you should) via extended mags/autoloaders.

I did specify that the especial benefit for single target Suppression should probably be limited to Gunners.
