Re: Classes and perks discussion
No, it's not clever enough. You need to spend some time trying to outsmart the AI, see my first sentence. You remind me a bit of my former self where I just theoretically thought AI always finds the weakest link. You can create the weakest link because all it does is look at who's in range and who ...

Re: Classes and perks discussion
It's not out of reach whatsoever to get 100 dodge/defense, and I hope you can see that's gamebreaking. Don't make me repeat the above quote a 4th time. Maybe something constructive to understand your point of view is: what kind of buffs do you think defensive perks need? Do they need to give you 10...

Re: Classes and perks discussion
There's one extremely big difference between a soldier and a mimic beacon: enemies are compelled to attack mimic beacon, while they will often entirely ignore the soldier if there's another valid target. As such, I can imagine it working with squadsight (snipers), but with normal teams it doesn't wo...

Re: Classes and perks discussion
If you turn everything into a graze (50 from hard target, 30 from sup pcs, 20 from officer bonus), you're only taking half damage from normal hits. Once you start taking half damage from normal hits, armor ridiculously helps in this case. Also, getting to 100 defense is not unfeasible - 45 from hig...

Re: Classes and perks discussion
Ranger Serves quite well as a generic pointman and damage-dealer. Both OW and direct damage builds work well, although direct damage build starts being useful at LCPL, while OW build is very mediocre all the way until GSGT. Both builds can be complemented with middle-tree defensive perks as needed ...

Classes and perks discussion
Might as well start this thread - it's likely going to take a very long time to get everything balanced, so a discussion and info pooling could be helpful. In my own feedback, I'm using a set of premises - these might not be very useful to different difficulties and so. My experience is based around...

Re: Biggest Booms and Shadowstrike Together
Explosives "crit" is not a crit, it's a flat roll for fixed bonus damage. It doesn't stack in any way with normal critical hits.

Re: Patch 1.2
Techs are stronger than grenadiers early in the game, and you can build them into tanks later in the game. Class balance is mostly not hurting the game at this point IMO besides psis. Class balance isn't really good right now (neither are skill trees, in majority of cases it's only a choice between...

Re: Ideas for balancing Oscar Mike > Command in rescue missions
You need to train up something other than Shinobi or you'll get wrecked on the missions that aren't stealth. But it's totally acceptable because you don't need too many Shinobis - infiltrating with ultra-small teams (esp. just 1 shinobi) will give you very favorable infiltration times even if you w...

Re: Suggested fix to supply raid, troop column, HQ 0% infiltration abuse
You can still fight it out if you want, but you can't sit in a corner and squadsight a 0% because the whole map will eventually charge you. Depending on the map, this might be very favorable to the player. If pods will trickle in, a good defensive position is all that needed to win the mission by s...

Yes, it would be better to restrict full random in some fashion. One game you can start with some ealry-game powerful bonus like GTS discounts or PG discounts on your home continent and get some hot stuff (+1 weapon upgrade slot) on other continents, and then the other game your home continent bonus...

Re: Suggested fix to supply raid, troop column, HQ 0% infiltration abuse
We're looking at three things on this: 1) Reducing max allowed squad size to 8 2) Requiring a minimum infiltration % to start the mission in concealment 3) Requiring a minimum infiltration % or else the enemies start in yellow alert (able to shoot on activation) So basically "let's make it har...

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered
At no cost except bringing a SSgt soldier whose sole purpose is to shut down a group of enemies 3 times per battle (or 4 if he gives up survivability). Sure at MSgt he can do it a lot more, which means he does only that and he reached a level at which other soldiers can clear an entire pod on their...

Re: Liberated regions, what to do with them?
Is there any point to have the intelligence job? Should I go the recruit route until 13 and then make them produce supplies? Intel job will still provide you with intel resource. And yes, keeping about half of rebels on intel will let you, in most cases, detect invasion attempt early (if other cond...

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered
But suppression provides -30 aim and shuts off all non-Psionic abilities in a similar duration... And it only requires a replenishable resource. Can't be spread on as much enemies as possible, and is entirely dependent on your gunner not getting hurt or otherwise disabled or simply running out of a...

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered
The same issue right now is occuring with incendiary grenades and grenadiers, invalidateing technicals flamethrower to an extent. Well, there's quite some difference in this case: you need to build inc. grenades, and before that you need to research them, and before that - build infrastructure for ...

Re: [QoL Suggestion] Not-Faceless-Marker
There were apparently bugs with faceless being cleared after rendezvous prior to 1.1 - how recently have you checked whether an immediate evac from the rendezvous actually does clear the infiltrator? It could be that it happened in 1.0 but has been fixed... I had it in my 1.1 campaign just a few da...

Re: LW2 needs more "middle class" missions
I don't like the idea of re-concealable squad at all. It will shift all combat extremely into "kill a pod in 1 turn" mentality. In fact, the less re-conceal abilites are there in the game, the better. AI isn't equipped with anything at all to deal with concealment, and currently it's just ...

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered
I hope flashbangs or support grenadiers not get nerfed just because nothing else can compete with them. Well, things need to be rebalanced in some way. At the moment, a simple SSGT class with no researchable equipment provides you a huge amount of AoE crowd control, with the only caveat of not doin...

Re: [General Feedback] Thoughts after first full playthrough
Acid shreds lots of armor, but AoE armor shredding that starts at -3 armor isn't terribly useful in LW2, and there're lots of other abilities and equipment to do minor armor shredding, so having a grenade dedicated to armor shred is meh. Explosives for -1 and -2 armor can be useful, but at -3 and -4...

More questions here: 1.- If I have a rebel who has ranked up. Does it mean that he is not a faceless? 2.- If a soldier goes into a faceless mission do he be discarded as an faceless forever? Or all soldiers have a chance of beign infected at any moment? 3.- Do ranked rebel work better than the othe...

Then, the faceless are attached to rebels. So are these things correct? 1.- If I have 6 rebels, the faceless mission is triggered but in the mission only appear 4 rebel soldier. It means tahat I had 2 faceless. 2.- The faceless are the men whose names are not listed in mission. 3.- If I abort missi...
