The bug showed up in long war 1.5. Just noticed the lost squad and looked up resolutions. LWForceSquadPostMissionCleanup doesnt work, squad name all capped, lower case etc. No resolution. Deleted config files, took to loads of the game to pull it all back in. I have no idea how long they were missin...
