Out of curiosity, do you play Paradox grand strategy games? In these games, starting as weak nation is viable and interesting for variety and the icnreased difficulty. Maybe you're trying to do the same in Terra Invicta and it's not working because the game just isn't built for this?

Re. winning the space race. This is done by having the most boost generation and picking the relevant early game techs. After the first mining outposts are up, boost becomes a lot less useful. When I watched a streamer, the normal difficulty seemed on the easy side. He was succeeding everywhere and ahead in space exploration and colonization despite still figuring out how to play. Brual difficulty sounds like it's much harder.

Difficulty understanding how boost is shared in a federation

Hi, I'm interested in this game and watched a stream yesterday where the player had difficulty understanding how boost was shared between federation members. He wasn't sure whether adding or removing a member would increase their own boost income or not. The description in the game could be clearer....
