Re: Biggest hit, can anyone do better than 82

I think it works like kubikiri where it actually does damage equal to their hp + armor (and maybe even more), and that is how it kills them. It's just that I don't know if coup de grace does less damage against alien rulers or not (kubikiri says in tooltip it does less damage vs certain targets).

Couldn't you theoretically coup de grace a 100 hp archon king?

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered

I don't rely on Flashbangs overly much, but that's quite the slippery slope you are riding down. Area Suppression has a much shorter list of abilities it disables, a much smaller radius, more fiddly targetting, can be turned off by hitting the user and doesn't do much against Shadowstep and Lightni...

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered

If flashbangs are overpowered, is area suppression also overpowered? It's essentially an infinitely available flashbang. Yes yes yes there's slight differences but look at the overall picture here. I.e. in a world without flashbangs, would everyone just bring gunners instead of flashbangs?

Re: Support Grenadier the new meta in 1.3?

Well I don't know how the idea came into my head then besides an angel, because I can trace the idea in my head before actually looking at the ini files. Maybe it's because they have the same description for environmental damage that I automatically assumed they had the same environmental damage.

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered

Well they took that philosophy with ammo too apparently; the best ammos are the low tier corpse-less AP and tracer rounds. I don't understand EMP grenades/bombs myself, way too situational, damage is rather close to regular frags, and there are so many other better ways to deal with robots. It...

Re: Pistol Builds?

I don't know what the application chance is, although I know it is certainly not 100%. I would guess it's 75%, but I haven't tried counting.

The venom one ticks for one, the fire ticks for 1-3.

Re: Pistol Builds?

It might be strong if you build a defensive shinobi, but I noticed I never get any use out of it when I'm using my shinobi as a concealed scout. Edit: Oh this is disappointing, hunter's instinct doesn't buff the dot, but it turns out center mass does. Tested with venom rounds which do 1 dot damage, ...

Re: Support Grenadier the new meta in 1.3?

I don't have a save to check the tooltips, but I didn't make it up, and it's also true if you look at the weapon file environmental damage. Maybe it's from the tooltip when you first receive the plasma grenade from completing the proving grounds project (like when a picture pops up of the item); I c...

Re: Pistol Builds?

DoT ammo is affected by weapon base damage perks the same way grenades are by grenade perks. This implies that center mass and hunter's instinct should affect the dot from ammo then? (as well as lethal, alpha mike foxtrot for main weapons, but center mass for pistols as well). I don't really feel l...

Re: Are Flashbangs overpowered

I was idly wondering about gas grenades myself, in a theoretical sense you could use them to "zone" enemies since the AI tries not to run through hazards (this is way more reliable than using fire bombs since fire bombs don't always set the ground on fire, and the radius is much less), I j...

Re: Wet Work Balance

This is pretty accurate, but here's the thing- you know how you referred to your insane team of badasses gaining one level? If you had a 5-man team, you could kill 200 enemies and Wet Work might not even give you a level... if the kills were equally spread around, with 40 kills per man, they would ...

I suppose if one were lucky enough to find a grenadier with flashbanger, then you could just build down the offensive line and be happy with both worlds?

Re: Weirdly Low Income

My main point was that rng is rng. You are not guaranteed to detect faceless. If you want to improve your chances, you put your highest soldiers in there. Those tables are nice and ones that I dug up and displayed weeks ago, but the end advice is the same: put your highest soldiers in havens if you ...

Re: Wet Work Balance

Sadly, your conclusions are the same as my own and that of those who've come before us: Wet Work is simply not worth taking, at this point, mathematically. If it doubled kill experience, it'd be a decent use of 75 supplies early in the game, but as it is, it's just a trap. But what if you farm rein...

Re: Weirdly Low Income

Someone in another thread in the past week looked into the code and found no evidence that haven advisers "lose a day." This is not a new question. I'm not going to look for the exact post, if you're that interested you can search for it. Again my suggestion is keep your highest ranked sol...

Re: Support Grenadier the new meta in 1.3?

A thought occurred to me- does grenade environment damage change with frags -> plasmas? I had expected so, but never technically checked. Frag and plasma grenades have the same environmental damage. You can learn this in game by looking at the tooltip of plasma grenades when you finish researching ...

Re: Weirdly Low Income

I'm not being snippy, it's in your head. Also, Haven advisers don't start accumulating points towards detecting spies until a day after you station them at the Haven, so you lose a day every time you swap advisers; Untrue, haven advisers accumulate points immediately. You're thinking about rebels wh...

Re: Wet Work Balance

RNFs do not drop loot, they do give kill exp. I haven't taken the time to try to farm RNFs in LW2, but I suspect there's a possibility with wet work it's quite abusive. I just got really bored of the idea after having done things like that in vanilla with avenger defense, shen's lower towers, etc. T...

I guess this is possible? But I'm nigh-certain that the entire Haven was on supplies all month. Go back and redo it. I'm nigh-certain the spike you experienced has to do with the new month calculation of your projected supplies. There is no other hidden factor involved like suddenly faceless appear...

Re: Weirdly Low Income

I haven't noticed anything different, make sure you look at -how experienced your rebels are, this makes a big difference and I would bet this accounts for the variation you see -engineer or not assigned as adviser -continent bonuses -faceless on the supply job make a big impact -make sure you match...
