The shadowkeeper's ability "shadowfall" - was it intentionally nerfed in LW2 to not have 100% hit? In vanilla/alien hunter it was given a guaranteed hit ability. It's a once a mission ability, kinda seems stupid now without that guaranteed hit.

I feel like the gist of that kind of mission is already in the game - if you find a facility lead and research it, you get to sabotage progress on the avatar meter (facilities in LW2 are completely hidden until you use a lead, unlike vanilla)

I have found on destroy alien relay missions where you are running short on turns the Ranger's shotgun can help knock a LOT of health off that thing in one attack. Also, what is the bonus for missions that only award intel?
I believe you get all rewards that are listed on the mission screen, contrary to what the other poster said, but that there is some hidden bonus like the dev is saying for capturing o.O

I see. You don't even use tracers? They are super cheap just $5 and come from hybrid materials research which is quite early, and they help you to hit to begin with. I would think you would use them on rangers since they fire twice.

But yes, the empirical issue that you raised DOES seem to be an issue worth investigating. You mentioned you used 6 soldiers. Would it change if you only had 1? Sharphooter officer can be very powerful IMO bringing up the accuracy of your firepower a ton with lead by example, holo targeting perks, and giving extra actions to your ranger/gunner. I think it would help a lot with a lot of the super powerful hp sponges you see in the late game. Maybe even train...

Having spent some more time training up AWC perks, I'm more in favor of training everyone deeply into offense/defense at some point. The higher up perks are less situational and can be outright fantastic - I've seen rupture and rapid reaction at tier 3. And there are a lot of good available passives...

I agree rangers are fine early on, it's just when gunners access traverse fire then it's like ehhhh. Overwatch camping isn't as effective as it used to be due to AI humping high cover, but maybe there are other tactics I'm not aware of to make overwatching better.

Oscar mike/focus fire do NOT break concealment. I don't think you have to think too hard about who becomes an officer. The one time it might make a difference is if you want to pick up the skill "lead by example" in which case you would want that officer to be a sharpshooter for maximum ai...
