Stop using voice pack mods. I've never had the Stuck Under The Avenger bug even once, and I run with a lot of cosmetic mods. Never used a voice pack once. Likely the starting vigilance of another region was 3 (that also can vary between 1 and 3 at the start for each region) and one of the legions fucked off, which makes sense.

Yeah, I think the exact combination is: Legend difficulty; your starting region's starting ADVENT Strength has to be 3. Since the latter is rare, I imagine that's why I've only seen a Gatecrasher Viper 2 times so far.

Only valid starting locations are in Asia, NA, and Africa. If you wanted to, you could actually go and disable all the start regions except those you prefer. Look for PossibleStartingRegions in XComGameData.ini in your My Games/XCOM2/XCOMGame/config folder, or edit the base files in your install dir...

Yeah, once a region's strength hits 3 or 4, the pod sizes start to look like they did in 1.0-1.2. It kinda made me sad, too, because I wasn't ready for the kind of shit I'm seeing in my current campaign on Light missions in Strength 5 regions, haha.

Gotta get 10 of 'em to make them instantaneous. Next to impossible for a lot of aliens without using Extract Corpses or delaying them until you end up getting a lot of materiel missions.

Honestly, I think this is a problem from before 1.3. I've had the same experience you have with the red tiles not being current with the visibility range of drones especially.

Oh, I absolutely love the reinforcement counter. I forgot that. I shouldn't have, because it yields so much insight into how safe your squad is, as opposed to just giving you one turn to prepare for an onslaught as before.
