Re: Take a scalpel to this game
Hey, remember how the game outright tells you to waste *months* on surveiling locations, knowing you can't get literally anything out of that action until you unlock arbitrary abilities through tech projects? Good times, man. Good times.

Re: Can't deploy a specific councilor to a nation!?
Ye, turned out he has Paranoid. So you have two full dozen of "different" councilor roles that sometimes have just one single mission of non-overlap between them, and then you get perks that can add or remove more missions, and then you get orgs that add more missions... The design of this...

Re: Just sunk 30 hours into a game I must now quit
Yes to basically all of this. Have you reached the "AI can just take your defended CP whenever it wants at 5% support vs your 50+"? I have. Every three to five turns, instantly lose a CP in Germany, France, Japan, to non-alien (Initiative, Protectorate, Humanity First) factions. It is unco...

Re: Take a scalpel to this game
I now have both a moon and mars mining going. Currently constructing the Sagitaur, a missile-and-torpedo based ship in the four thousand tons range. Do you not find it strange how it is completely unfeasable to field a single armed ship until you have a thriving exoplanetary economy going? Even thou...

Can't deploy a specific councilor to a nation!?
So I am trying to take over France. I have four agents there, one spamming propaganda, and three spamming unrest. Got it to 60% support, 7.6 unrest, and suddenly, my Kingpin, my one guy who has Coup and a Command ability above, like, seven... can't be deployed in France!? Like, at all! He can do wha...

What I meant was "you can't take them".
No idea what rules the AI councilors use.

Re: China Help CP
The usual methods of crackdown>purge or unrest>coup do not work on China and the US; they are too large. Whoever sits on them first, has them forever, looks like.

Re: Changing Starting Councilor Nationality
Given the number and power of some US-based orgs... doesn't this kinda unbalance the game in favor of those players?

Re: Initial Management Team Selection -- Possible Re-Balance?
This selection isn't that bad, it's Ops that is the wild outlier. In the early years, you can obtain little tiny bonuses to your Ops by tooth an nail; a +0.1 here, a +0.3 there, all paid for in blood and guts and limited opportunity choices... or you can randomly join a book club that gives you +1.5...

Re: Terra Invicta Dev Diary #13: Habitats
For the first few years, all hab modules eat up 5 power. Solar panels provide 10. So a panel can feed two other modules, on a 4-module hab, meaning the fourth module is empty, because no module I've found so far uses 0 power (not even a supply depot or something like that). The first power supply up...

Re: Terra Invicta Dev Diary #16: Tough choices, and not-so-tough ones
Will there be options while setting up the game for a more simplified Earth for fewer players and a bit faster play? So, no "Germany, france, Poland, Slovakia..." but "Central Europe"? Something to scale with number of non-ayy factions, maybe?

Stations overly simplistic?
Design-a-ship seems kinda neat. You got your basic blueprints, your modules, your options, engines, etc. Go nuts, go wild. Stations, however, are just "here's a core, put in four modules". And the modules are most often one power, two labs, and a nothing, because the basic (and the fission...

Re: AI Councilors Cheating...
On Normal, can confirm the AI seems reluctant to take anything the player ignores. But if I show interest in it, there it goes, snatching it. 2025, USA was entirely empty, nobody claimed a single CP on it. I send three agents boosting my popularity there, finish my management research, and snatch tw...

Re: Take a scalpel to this game
Research needs to be... tied together better. It balloons into width too much too fast (current options for my own projects is three whole screens of scrolling, and my research is actually really good, and at least 60%+ selfish). Prerequisites and chains, instead of vaguely connected puddles that l...

Re: Take a scalpel to this game
I am your demographic ... if your demographic is any thinner than me, there aren't going to be many people playing this game at all. I've put hundreds of hours into both XCOM games and deep strategy games like Stellaris ... but this feels like the micromanaging level of some of the early Iron Heart...

Take a scalpel to this game
Been playing the demo for about ten or so hours, then the early access game since release for... don't know. In late 2025 now. I have... thoughts. Many thoughts. Lots of tiny things that need changed here and there, explanations of features, etc, but all those are just details and window dressing. T...

It will take a *LONG* time.
I also lost a haven defense mission. 2 months of *GSGT* officer later, I have 1 rebel there.

Re: Best single class team
Disagree about the specialist, if you have a pod with no mechanicals your basically hoping not to run out of combat protocol to win and at best can kill one thing per person per turn. You're underestimating the toolbox. Even if you're somewhat lacking in offensive power when compared to grenadiers ...

OK, so... What do you think is the strongest class in terms of "teams composed of nothing but this class"? Not just on a single mission basis, but strategically. As in, there are no other classes. All rookies become this class. And what are the primary disadvantages of each? Here's my rank...
