Re: Is the 'Beagle maneuver' still cheap?
Oh and talking about "cheapness": ADVENT gets free reflex shots on you the rest of the game, and even abilities, because of the alert system. Screw those guys. Besides, it's by design, Pavonis chose to do away with the old system that prevented this.

I still prefer to open with a flamethrower, trench gun or a status grenade when possible. I only seem to use the "maneuver" on Gatecrasher or Rendevouz.

Re: Question on protect supply convoy
Reinforcements are finite. You just have to kill them all. There're no pre-placed pods. I don't think that "protect the supplies" means you have to not destroy the boxes, it's just fluff.

Re: Retaliation Avoidance Strategy?
Once a mini-retal happens, is there some sort of timer for when the next one is gonna happen? Say I set everyone to Intel, Data Tap happens and I succeed. If I keep them on Intel, do I have some sort of stablished free-of-retaliation time? Is is just for Intel jobs?

Re: Would you think valid a strategy based in one suicide shinobi?
Pretty sure you need to make it out with the package. The other option is to hack, throw evac flare, and dash all around the map throwing the evac flares. Evac flare has a cooldown, but everytime you toss it, it'll take less turns for Firebrand to get to you.

Re: "Stealthing Network Tower Missions"
I'd plant my Shinobi behind the right-most ADVENT symbol and wait for an opening, then turn Ghostwalker and dash to the door. If no opening is ever present, I'd try to get the rest of the team on top of the building and engage that MEC pod while trying to sneak the Shinobi thru, but it might now wor...

Re: LW2 Strategic Layer: Managing Strength and Vigilance
Need some advice here: So this is a new 1.2 Legendary campaign (no >50% infiltration), I'm in March 31th with 5 days to Lasers (AWC delay to buy Scientist, dissasembled core), and my home region just turned Strenght 4 (Supply Raid detected with 18h :( ). Thing is, I juuuuust completed Liberation 1. ...

Re: Are mags better than lasers
Mag weapons are probably the weapons I buy the least of, but I buy some nevertheless: - Mag Rifle: for the rangers, who get the most out of them because of high aim and best scopes. - Mag Long Rifle: one for the DFA sharpshooter. - Mag Cannon: my Gunners almost always have Hail of Bullets so... I al...

Your current A-Team
What does it look like? As in, the team in your current campaign that you consider your best and usually goes to the missions that you need to be succesful. Mine: A trio of Infantry Rangers, led by a Holotargeting Sharpshooter officer, supported by a Support Grenadier and usually an overwatch-tank h...

Re: Usefulness of Plasma Grenades/Medics
I always have 1 medic in my roster. No more no less. His job is to go to HQ raids and (other long missions where I can bring 6+) and keep the rest of the crew's HP full and out of red fog. By the time I get him, I'm rocking Predator so most can take 1 bad shot or some grazes. Usually comes with good...

Re: Are these early haven strategies good?
I don't find much value in setting rebels to recruit on the home region (the one you'll be trying to liberate). You'll get some jailbreaks between the first two months to fill it up decently. I however set 2 rebels on recruit after I'm past 9 rebels in the haven (7 intel + scan and 2 recruit + soldi...

For the seemingly impossible Rendezvous I go and find the Faceless pod, throw Evac flare in sight of it (while out of sight of the pod), so that when Evac arrives, I dash in visual range of the traitor, he transforms and I evac the hell out of there.

I always go (below Legend) for a workshop in B2. That means my first buy is an Engineer ar the BM who goes excavate A2 then B2. It's slower start for the first 20 days but it yealds a nice amount of cash, plus you rocks the 2nd month with 2 Gremlins. I always felt the need to rush GTS a bit troubli...

Re: So 0%/low% supply raids are getting nerfed....
My current C/I campaign has a "as close to 100% infiltration possible" house rule on the Supply Raids and Troop Columns. Columns I seem to always get with good infiltration times with 4 rebels on Intel. Supply Raids are a mixed bag: about a third that show up have impossible times to meet ...

Re: Any way to motivate/promote Supply convoy / troop column raid?
You need to increase vigilance in a region. Supply raids are basically ADVENT legions that arrived to the region from an adjacent one but you intercepted them before they added themselves to the Strenght counter. You'll need a good deal of Intel points to detect the missions with reasonable times th...

Re: Support Grenadier the new meta in 1.3?
What else can you do with granadiers tho? By midgame only the status effects of the grenades matter because the damage doesn't scale with enemy HP (and armor), which ramps super high midgame and onwards. And Sapper only works on half of the stuff the aliens use for cover. With the omni-present risk ...

Re: Quick thought about Retaliations
I'm fairly sure that if you fail a Data Tap you go straight to full Retaliation (the ones from vanilla), not Haven Evac. Haven Evac is a mini-retaliation (Data Tap, Recruit raid, Supply defense and Haven Evac). I'm just not entirely sure what triggers the Haven Evac mini-retal. I think it happens by...

Re: Repair times on mech troopers..balanced?
I never figured out by the way - does the repair skill reduce the wound time or not? I've heard it both ways. Dunno because the other two options are so good (so I have yet to take it, I just field something else when my SPARK is damaged) but I would imagine that even if it doesn't, if you're field...
