Re: LW2 1.5 Officers and Squads

I use exclusively Shinobis and Non-OW Specialists. I don't use Lead by Example nor fixed squads (too much of a hassle I think and I change my squad composition based on objectives). Rationale : Shinobi : Normally I have them stealthed for the first half of the mission, close to the team but spotting...

Re: How important is mobility?

Ok apparently my Walking battlescanner Approach is quite antiquated. Is there nobody playing on legend who uses them for scouting mostly? I just wonder if you two just prefer it a different way or if there's just no reason to try and make them work as pure stealth Units in legend. I use them this w...

Re: Concussion Rocket?

I picked it up on a Technical that started with 14 mobility and high aim (he was at 80+ SGT). Reasoning not to pick Shredder was that at such low mobility, and already carrying a frag to get a bit more out of Biggest Booms, I wouldn't want to pick a rifle and slow him even further. Because I use him...

Re: Wound Redirection?

Must be something else wrong entirely. Reloaded, completed the mission with a flawless and Vanya still gets a wound.

I think the geoscape save from before the retal got overwritten so can't try reloading the mission again. Plus I don't feel like replaying it. Gonna suck it up then I guess.

Wound Redirection?

This is one is weird, but got a good save. Version 1.5, only quality of life mods installed. It seems one of my advisors got a wound because... A rebel took a wound? This is what happens: It's an Intel Retal. Final pod wanders in yellow alert (drone, sectoid, trooper and something else), a drone sho...

Re: How important is mobility?

Mobility is very important but I do have some strategies to deal with low mobility troops: - Low mobility high aim rookies are easier to handle. You can GTS them into Sharpshooters (DFA), Rangers and Gunners. It is gonna hurt the Gunner and the Crit Rangers the most, specially when you want to deplo...

Re: LW 1.5 Ranger Builds

In the end it all depends on what you want the Ranger to be doing inside your squads. Bar the sawn-off build, I consider the Ranger as a sort of MOBA hard-carry that starts slow and needs a helping hand in the beggining stages of the campaign but ends up dishing most of the team's damage late game, ...

Re: Rapid Response + Vigilance = are you serious?!

So many irrelevant posts. Anyways, I think both of them only last 2 weeks, and Rapid Response is the big one. Since the stealth nerf I don't mind Vigilance, it just means you're gonna want to ditch conceal hijinks and activate with Grenadiers instead of Technicals and you gotta give Shinobis extra g...

Re: LW 1.5 Ranger Builds

The OW Ranger can be good, and there's good OW perks soon, but I'm thinking the OW Specialist would be enough. OW won't work against Sneks with Shadowstep. And don't some ADVENT get Lightning Reflexes from a DE? And there's all those big bags of hit points to wear down. It's kind of a mixed bag fro...

Re: LW 1.5 Ranger Builds

I want to take the OW build, what they can do is amazing, but I find that in the end game I really need the Crit rangers to hammer down the Super Heavy MECs, the Gatekeepers and the Sectopods. Technically the Gunners can also do that, and they also do it, I just... Need more and more shots to kill s...

Re: LW 1.5 Assault Builds

Normally for Assaults I go all right side (sometimes with CCS, sometimes with Streetsweeper), unless they came with 14 mobility or under, in which case I take Extra Conditioning and Rapid Fire. Also on those I take Stun Gunner because from experience they end up using the Stun Gun a lot, have good d...

Re: LW 1.5 Technical Builds - especially LCpl perk

The problem with not having FitH is that you can't the count on a 2.0 scatter rocket (4 tile variance) to do its thing other than in the center. And that's the difference between blowing up relevant cover hitting 3 enemies and just damaging the guy in the center and not even blowing up its cover. It...

Re: WotC is literally impossible to lose??

On Legend, my first and only run so far, I rode the AVATAR clock kinda close early (15d). But after doing a Facility with 3 ticks (wow they're easy compared to LW2) and perma-running Sabotage order I never had a problem with it. I think I activated the clock a second time but I did another Facility ...

Re: LW 1.5 Technical Builds - especially LCpl perk

I seem to build my technicals pretty much the same, a flamethrower-rocket hybrid that focuses on crowd control and cover destruction, thinking more on the late game where the gauntlet damage falls off hard against T3, instead of the immediate payout in early and mid game where technicals are already...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save

I had my first dark VIP missions where there were several faceless all over the place. Since it was my first mission of this kind PLUS faceless dark event for the first time, I watched my squad get wiped several times before now deciding to reload at a spot in the mission where I survived my first ...

You make WotC Sound quite spectacular, damn it. But no, I'll hold off until LW2 Support. I have to be strong now, more than ever! Also no Money, I spent all on Scotch. Well you can hold off for a sale in the future, but I gotta say, the game is a must buy. Might not have as much depth and complexit...

Re: Building Tall?

Just be advised that if you go super aggressive vigilance-wise early in the game, you might attract an excesive number of legions to your starting regions and you might end up without low strenght regions to run your Ex.Light missions.

Re: Rookie stats

Here.

It'll mess up a bit your total "stat score" tho. As in, the sum of your stats*modifier won't amount to 478 anymore, so for example you won't be able to accurately predict the hidden Psi stat of your soldiers.

Re: suggestions: wotc

All I know is that it's going to be a pain in the behind for Pavonis if they have to develop separately for WotC and the base game. If they decide to go all-in for WotC then they screw over the people that don't want to purchase WotC. If they don't want to mod for WotC then we won't have the juicy o...
