Re: If I lose all my haven advisors, can I ever get any more?

I had the same thing happen - no soldiers to do a resistance mission at Advent strength 12, so lost everyone right before liberating the region! Oh well. Slowly.

Re: "Impregnable" = yikes

Yes, I discovered the burning thing last night too and was a little surprised! I recall in vanilla that they could swipe with a full space between you, but maybe I just never had one swipe with two spaces in vanilla - once you figure out how to deal with them in vanilla they are a pretty minor conce...

Re: "Impregnable" = yikes

Haha! Yikes indeed! Too bad on the reward. That Faceless mutating sound just creeps me out now, knowing what is coming. They didn't have the same reach in vanilla did they?

Re: "Impregnable" = yikes

Yes, thanks, that is a good strategy, and it was with considerable dismay that I realized no one had a Fbang on cooldown to use that turn. Bah. I had an early save so I tried a few different strategies last night, but nothing worked against so many 8-man pods and single drones, within the timer. Tri...

"Impregnable" = yikes

Five missions into new Vet campaign a 1d mission popped with a too tempting reward (+1 contact, +35 Intel or something). With strength at Light and knowing I'd get little Infil (but Avenger-boosted a little since only one zone), I thought I'd give it a try. Eight guys, 27% Infil, but figured enemy w...

Re: Hiding is useless

Agreed. I figure it will be something balanced out over the next few updates, which is fine as long as one is aware that it doesn't seem a good choice at present. The basic idea is a good one, adding choice but also uncertainty. I'm really enjoying LW2 - immense amount of work to put all this togeth...

Re: Hiding is useless

Ha! The proverbial elephant in the room. I think you must be correct. When a Haven rolled to 5 I put all 11 guys on hiding just to see what happened, only to watch the strength steadily increase. The effect if there is one, must be too miniscule to be worth it over other options, as you suggest. Nee...

Re: Trigger haven faceless missions faster

"What I wanna know is why I can't chuck a sensor ball at any new recruits to make sure they aren't faceless" Hah! That's hilarious. I hadn't thought of that, but that is a good question. Kinda like a dumb movie plot point - he's right THERE! Even John Connor wondered about infiltration of ...

Re: What is a lead? How does one get a lead?

Ok, makes sense now. The pips on the management screen in 1.1 now help a lot. I think my problem was that from the start I had too many guys set at "int" and was generating too many missions per zone, so was doing quite a few "find a lead" missions in each zone or more than I nee...

Re: What is a lead? How does one get a lead?

Haha, I agree that "explanation" thread is not very useful as it lacks obvious specific information. What exactly is meant by a "lead" - an objective achieved or a physical item, the explanation given there could be taken to mean either. Is it something like the alien data thingi...

Re: Gaining Haven MECs?

Hmm, that might be the same for me. I recall an early mission with resistance agents as the reward, but in my excitement at finishing the mission I didn't look at the list of names.

Any other way to get them?

Gaining Haven MECs?

I'm pretty early in first campaign, mid-May I think (3 regions, desperately trying to accumulate supplies to expand, 15 missions or so, etc), and have my first haven defence mission. Now that region acquired a MEC at some point. I recall seeing the notice for it, and noticed it on the haven manageme...

Re: Does hacking break concealment?

It might be different in patched versions, but I recall in early vanilla if you hacked a mec in a pod (or got control of a soldier through a hack on a signpost thingie) the enemy pod didn't react unless you moved or took an action with that unit. I don't recall if they changed that in later patches,...

Re: radio relays, avatar project, alien rules questions

If you are on the management screen for a single haven - the one where you assign tasks to haven personnel - the build radio button is in the upper right corner as I recall.

Re: Squad is no longer usable

Update: I started a new campaign and am about 15 missions in and have not encountered the bug this time. The only change I made was deleting the "Bleedout" mod and "Just a Scratch v2". Judging from Steam forums "Bleedout" seems to cause the conflict (though presumably s...

Re: Squad is no longer usable

I've had same problem now on three campaigns I've had to abandon - and have never used Playable Aliens mod, so no that is not the answer. Please keep investigating. I've only got qol mods running, and some voice packs, all on the compatible list circulating on reddit. The only exception is the Overw...
