Re: Losing supplies to a mysterious...
In the early game, it might seem annoying, but it's worth putting a Squaddie in each haven you have. Yes, soldiers are a precious resource, but you'll be able to put a stop to moles in the Resistance, and you'll have a safe place to park a soldier should you need him/her later on. As for the mole h...

Re: Workshop/Labratory in LW2
Really the big thing about the Lab in LW2 over vanilla is that it has four slots instead of just two. That alone makes it a far more worthwhile investment in my eyes. I believe you are capped at one Lab and one Workshop now though. I don't know if Gremlins can clear tiles; I mostly use mine to staff...

Re: Infiltration and how I learned to love 2 man shinobi groups
This is why my stealth team now includes a specialist, for remote hacking/medical purposes. FWIW, unless you absolutely need the infiltration speed bonus from a two-man crew then the minimum you want to be taking is 3; XP split is capped such that you are effectively wasting a third of the total XP....

Re: Need some help with Assault and Ranger classes
Rangers: Get high aim on one of these guys and go to town, either with crit perks (left side) or OW (right side). They start out being able to shoot twice (!!) and pick up all sorts of perks for shooting things better. When I get one with low aim I typically give them the more sawed-off ammo perk a...

Re: Managing Advent strength in a region?
...10?! In July?! Well, it's not completely lost, but I would assign all of the personnel there either to Intel or Hiding. You want to be looking for troop movements that might allow you to bring the strength down and to intercept incoming supply trains. Aside from that, focus elsewhere for the time...

Re: A couple of questions and earlt game feedback
OK. I forgot to ask this one, i've read the XP system have been changed, especially missions are now more important and number of kills less. I like this change but i see no specifics. Does someone know how it actually works? Objective completion now accounts for (I think) a good 60-80% of the XP y...

Re: Sharpshooters?
They excel at popping drones through armor, and mecs too. This is often what I use mine for as well to be honest. Drones are always high-priority targets (any enemy that has control effects should be!) and MECs just love to stand out in the open. The other thing I sometimes use them for is ADVENT V...

Re: A couple of questions and earlt game feedback
What's the purpose of the Long War option "pause on recruit"? X-Com is not real time so what is it pausing and when? Geoscape. It'll pause when havens get new recruits - otherwise the little event log in the lower left flashes by too fast to track sometimes. How does the "not created...

Re: Losing supplies to a myterious...
It's just a huge time commitment to permanently have a soldier sitting in your havens doing "nothing". Preferable to losing money, though! Can i boost the time it takes to find faceless? To a degree. I believe the soldier's rank and whether or not they are an officer or a psi-op changes t...

Re: Need some help with Assault and Ranger classes
For Assaults, I recommend sticking with the rifle and try focusing on the arc thrower perks. My stungun assaults are actually surprisingly formidable, and also an extremely hard counter to ADVENT mechanized units. The 'damage synthetics with stungun' perk is just... well, the basic stungun is 2-4 ar...

Re: Liberated my first region
Higher infiltration doesn't seem to affect those headquarter raid missions very much, I was at 200% and got 38 enemies O.o I think it's still worthwhile for cutting down your skyranger response time, unless HQ Assaults have some special override. The 0% infil evac timer is a lot longer than the 200...

So does this mean I can completely get rid of It's Just a Scratch V2 from my understanding, Nanoscale Vests still add actual HP in Long War 2? As eisenefaust pointed out, there's two seperate kinds of HP item; Platings, and Vests. You can equip a Plating and a Vest, but not two Platings or two Vest...

Re: Broken jailbreak missions?
I've been able to hack things using the standard pad (my stealth team's super-fast Shinobi actually did a lot of the hacking until I assigned them a dedicated Specialist) so it sounds like a bug of a different flavour. Is the game not showing the green-star-on-floor and red-padlock graphics when you...

Re: Bladestorm seems to have crazy range at times
If I had to guess it's an order of operations thing. The AI is passing through or into the bladestorm-soldier's melee range and has done so as far as the logic is concerned, but the bladestorm free attack triggers before the actual animated movement takes place? I vaguely recall seeing something sim...

Re: Teleporting reinforcements and armored drones
Just happened again, but this time, there was a psychic portal (purple) accompanying the teleportation. There was a sectoid, and 3 advent. This is intentional, at least. Only ADVENT forces have animations for deploying from dropships, so all alien forces arrive by the purple teleporter thingy inste...

Try Metal over Flesh. It allows you to upgrade SPARKs with improved armour/mobility/etc. via the Proving Grounds as you complete autopsies and other research topics.

You probably shouldn't be jumping on every single operation that presents itself (because you're running into these issues). I would recommend reassigning some of your people from Intel to Supply to draw your income towards acceptable levels. Keep in mind that the Skyranger provides the equivalent o...

It... kind of is? As I understand it pods have three alert levels; green, yellow, and red. Green is when they're just putzing around patrolling or standing guard or whatever. Yellow is when they've heard a noise (like a gunshot or a screaming civ) and are moving to investigate. Red is when they've s...

ok reached the stage of vipers, this is bs, needs heavy rebalance, vipers are simply too difficult to hit, the dodge stats needs to be lowered a ton, no point in having a guy with 80/90 aim if they get high cover and have 25 dodge It's fine. Fight smarter, not harder. Here's some tips; Use a Sapper...
