Don't they have a naturally higher crit chance? That serves the same function in that it can upgrade a miss to a graze or a graze to a full hit.

Sounds like the Render 'tech' should probably be gated behind the Autopsy completion to avoid situations like these. This would be pretty neat, but I'd tack on a supply cost and a minimum 'rank' for the promoted volunteer, like they have to have at least two perks and cost 20-30 supplies (e.g. 10 + 5-10 per extra perk) to offset the fact you're not babysitting them through AWC training.

Holotargeter works through squadsight as far as I'm aware, so you don't need to close in to use it effectively.

The Options menu has three special LW2-specific entries that are only loaded during a game due to some Weird Engine Stuff or something. If you start a campaign/load a save, you can disable them and they shouldn't apply to your next game.
