Well, this is the way all XCOM works: is all about risk control. And I also believe that this is the beauty of this game and what makes it unique.

I`d say it is an issue not in some missions, but in late balance in general. When you hit those MSGTs they just complete wreck EVERYTHING with NO problems. If you did bring in higher quality troopers, you'd have to bring in Advanced versions of troops rather than entirely new ones. Just as the case of technicals, sword shinobis aren't that bad if know where they can be useful. The difficulty doesnt make any difference in this case: 0% supply raids are doable (not easy, DOABLE) both in Veteran and Legendary, and in both difficulties they can make XCOM snowball to the point that the aliens can't catch up anymore. I think he's referring to a full inspection function like LW1 had. I especially appreciated it for learning about which Heavy Floaters, Mutons etc had stuff like Bombardier and other more annoying (especially overwatch related) perks. What do you mean "least reward"? AFAIK they counter most of the times Dark Events, Retaliations and are even Liberation events, so I believe that they can be pretty crucial at some points of the campaign.

Have you already got to the mid/late game? A lot of people complain about not having big gunfights on early game and end up missing the real warfare that happens on late game, where you have retaliations + invasions + golden path + HQ Assaults + etc missions.

I guess it depends on a lot of factors. You may be trying to liberate a region for an increase in income (if you are in late game and need supplies to get equipment) or you may need corpses and the loot from the HQ. For me the problem isn't raiding the HQ itself, but assaulting the Network Towers
