Re: [0.3.45] Base Assault - From one extreme to another .... ?
Any new idea? Or Just buld 100k fleet power to kill 1 base. Is in unplaybe now TI May I suggest looking at the enemy base, going 'My. That's a lot of laser firepower. I'd need some pretty thick armor to deal with that. Thats also a lot of point defense. Missiles and coils look pretty pointless', an...

Re: Neutral AI nuking?
Oh boy. You either can contribute to topic, of why AI that isn't controlled by AI faction nukes in place it has no interest in, or not. AI doesn`t use nukes to defend/attack most of it`s enemies. So, unless you want to flex your knowledge of how exactly AI decides to nuke, well you have nothing to ...

Re: Neutral AI nuking?
Russia starting a nuclear war over some random country in Africa is pretty silly even if he should have removed them as a threat sooner.

A Russia who was deeply penetrated by the Servants ?
Far less unlikely.

Re: Neutral AI nuking?
I get it. You're incompetent. You were expecting an alien invasion, but had done *none* of the prep work of going 'If they invade *here*, what is our contingency plan ?', and then you had done no work to prepare for it. The Aliens invaded in Africa, and you didn't have a plan and you scrambled. You ...

Re: Any ideas on brutal playthroughs after campus nerf?
As long as your Alien Hate is at rainbow-five, the Aliens are going to keep raiding your stuff, until it drops below that.
It will drop over time. Depending on how much you pissed them off, this may be a long time (ie measured in years).

Re: Any ideas on brutal playthroughs after campus nerf?
[/quote] It is more a question of how to have any bases. AI fleet makes a trip in about 3 month, any station under construction will be destroyed by even small raiding party. At about 30s january 2038 AI sends fleets to all my stations, wipes them out, bombs everything on Mars, and keeps attacking m...

"miltech growth is just too slow"
"knowledge and global research are more important"
Pick what you want - guns or books.
You can have either in TI, but you don't get both at the same time.

Re: Request: please rework Africa to have a shred of hope
"2. Reduce the effects of poverty and anocracy on unrest." I think the way TI models poverty and unrest is wrong. People being poor does not seem to trigger social unrest, if people see things are, on the whole, getting better. But if things start getting worse, then troubles start. I'd li...

Re: Some Suggestions about Nations, armies & AI balance issue
Regarding MilTech, my current playthrough had China - controlled by the AI Resistance faction - at rough military technology parity to the US by 2038 or so, and keeping up with US after that. It's currently at a Chinese miltech of 7.2, which is at parity with Alien armies. Now, the NPC faction paid ...

Re: 3 of 7 AI factions don`t contribute to global tech research
One of the several good bits of AI in this game is that NPC factions have a look at the global techs, and decide if they really want them, or if their own Faction engineering techs are more important. For example, the Servants may not really care about high temperature superconductors or supercapaci...

Re: Neutral AI nuking?
So, let me get this straight. In the first case, the faction that wanted to see the Alien Nation prosper used it's nukes to attack the armies that were crushing the Alien Nation. In the second case, a country's allies were being attacked by a third party, so that country used it's nukes to defend it...

Re: Gameplay Suggestion: Ship Building From Earth Surface
Believe me, I've tested it in-game and patience has nothing to do with it. Edit: You can easily see it when you compare what is absolute minimum DV in-game to go somewhere (it's easiest for low-tech ships with very low DV because the game will show you this minimum) eg. to the moons of Jupiter with...

BTW, I can assure you this Delta-V chart is known to devs - I like it so much that I once feature-requested it to be present in-game in some form and I would love to see Delta-V values closer to those present on the chart than are in-game as it would make so many more low-tech engines to be viable ...

Re: Gameplay Suggestion: Ship Building From Earth Surface
Though I think we're losing track of the subject. Why would you be against this feature? I believe that is the main reason you responded. Because the way you posted it implied the aliens would, in a hot war environment where the aliens are upset at your faction, leave such shipbuilding facilities a...

Re: Gameplay Suggestion: Ship Building From Earth Surface
But the "softlock" of the Alien Fleet Wall still exists. Currently my game is experiencing a single fleet of over 150 alien ships (along with dozens of smaller ones of course) so in order to go against that, I need ships and resources. But to build enough ships to go against that is going...

Re: Gameplay Suggestion: Ship Building From Earth Surface
I do think this would be helpful in preventing "softlocked" saves where the aliens have locked down space and the player has locked down Earth. It will be tricky to balance though. It should be substantially less efficient than participating in the space race in the normal fashion. You've...

The question is not 'Can the humans build a fleet that can fight the aliens before going to war ?' The question is 'Can the humans build an equivalent technology fleet that can beat the aliens in a frontal fight before going to war ?' Yes. It's true. High tech ships do get you more bang for the same...

Well, maybe buff Fusion reactors then, so Mercury is not so essential? It is just insane that fussion power plants are so weak, compared to solar on Mercury. It doesn`t matter if AI will or will not contest Mercury. Build everything clustered there is by far the most MC efficient strategy, in parti...

What was your highest used MC ? That establishes the old floor. I suspect you'd got up to ten or fifteen 'stars', and it *has* updated, it's just still exceeding the five stars on the meter :) Note that you're still producing on Earth, yeah ? Research is still happening, MC is still being built, stu...

Welcome to the Long War. You annoyed the aliens good and proper, and they responded by parking a fleet in Earth orbit and eliminating everything you have. What is the Alien Threat Meter at ? The more stuff you have in space (ie the more MC used), the higher the 'floor' for Alien Hate is. As you do t...

You also don't care, at all, about Alien Hate, and presumably the Aliens are trying to shoot your stuff as you try and shoot their stuff.
From my perspective, this is great, and to be encouraged by the game design.

Noted in my last try - it sat there at 3 bars once I went to 101/140 MC. There seems to be something about the number 90 it doesn't like much, but 100/140 definitely caused escalations More accurately, the other stuff you were doing (attacking the Sevants, murdering or capturing Hydra, and so on) c...
