Part-Time VFX and Technical Artist

Pavonis Interactive has an opening for a remote VFX and technical artist to work on our grand strategy alien invasion game Terra Invicta. This is an open-ended hourly contract position.
Contract rate begins at US $30 an hour, can go higher depending on prior experience. Expect between 10 and 20 hours per week based on need and what ideas we come up with to improve the game.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new visual FX, including comet trails, urban lighting visible from space, and aurorae
- Develop, modify, and debug shaders
- Assist in optimization of game's graphical systems in Unity
- Propose and implement new VFX and shaders to enchance the player experience
- Help with debugging in reported player issues related to video cards, drivers, and graphics settings.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of Unity, particularly the Unity Particle System
- Able to code and debug shaders
- Comfortable using a Git-based version-control system
- Fluency in written and spoken English
