Why the hell did battle scanner activate the pod?

Post by Ketchup4684 »

My last move of the turn was my Scout's, and he threw a battle scanner to reveal a pod i detected with my Assault's motion detector. Lo and behold, it was a Cyberdisk and 2 drones. I ended my turn, and for some reason they activated. And killed 2 civs and my Gunner. Why.

And where was the Gunner? They must have spotted your Gunner if they killed him.

Just found out why it happens. Apparently, when the Scout throws a battle scanner, or when a soldier shoots an enemy from full cover, they step on tile to the side before doing the action. So, when my Scout threw the battle scanner, that one tile step was enough to get in vision range of the cyberdisk pod. So it's not a bug or anything, I just got incredibly unlucky. I'll keep that in mind for whenever i need to chuck scanners now.
