The recent batch of UI mods are truly amazing.

Post by deaconivory »

As many of you know, I've run close to 600 mods with XCOM2/LW2 and I have to say that robojumper's Squad Select: LW2 Beta:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =889469383 is one of the most impressive mods I've ever seen.

You will need to run the base version simultaneously, and you will get a mod conflict warning in the AML, ***you can ignore that conflict warning*** it is a false positive.

Add in bountygiver's Show Infiltration percentage in Squad Select: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =888102133 and you will have an almost perfect Squad Select UI for LW2.

I've also been running No Drop Down Lists: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =865667559 by LeaderEnemyBoss; LW2: Better Squad Icon Selector: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =848382778, LW2: Rebel Job Selector: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =873749733, and Unit Selection Order: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =839670497 also by robojumper.

I have been subscribed to bountygiver's Quick Soldier info: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... =642371502 for close to a year now, I can't imagine my tactical game without it.

All of these mods are absolute must haves for your Long War 2 campaign. Give them a Thumbs up, Favorite them, and Subscribe to them on Steam.

As always a big thank you goes out to the modding community for keeping this game alive, and interesting.

EDIT: ~~Screenshot of my Squad Select~~, there are screenshots on the mod page as well.

EDIT 2: Forgot that I am running 1.3, I have to re-upload the images.

EDIT 3: Ok, these are allowed screenshots: http://imgur.com/gYwzBEE, http://imgur.com/vJvij13, and /u/DerAva's [video demo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRTsDbFOW7Y&feature=you

Interesting to know robojumper's squad select have been made compatible with LW2.

I would like to add a few
  • First is actually a fix from "official" bug hunter and well named bountygiver Facility Staff Slot Indicator Fix really helps quickly assign soldiers to the correct GTS/AWC slots in LW2 from the "ant-farm" view.
  • Another simple one from -bg- Upcoming events in hours because sometimes there is a difference between 2 days and 32 hours.
  • A small handy mod is TacticalUI KillCounter. Keeping track of how many aliens you killed can be really useful when you roughly know how many enemies to expect on the map. By default it won't cheat by showing you the total number of aliens before you have the Shadow Chamber and you can even disable the total number even after you have the SC since that information is not given in LW2.
  • I really like LeaderEnemyBoss's LW2: ShowMeTheSkills Revived but it's not compatible with robojumper's squad select (robojumper's squad select does most of what ShowMeTheSkills does and more but currently the color coding of abilities is only available with ShowMeTheSkills)
Two big UI-QoL mods now.
  • First one will be Soldier9's Gotcha Again. Despite the name it's much more than just an update of the already incredibly useful Gotcha as it will give you various indicators to know when you will be in the area of a smoke grenade, when you are far away enough to benefit from Lone Wolf and plenty other helpful indicators that don't cheat as you could already learn all of this without the mod, but help avoid tile-counting and such nonsense.
  • Then GrimyBunyip's Additional Icons is incredibly useful in LW2 if only to have a nice and clean display of your soldiers' stats (with NCE it's really useful). Be sure to disable the loot indicator (or set it to only show for enemies who have been scanned) if you don't want to "cheat".
Finally i haven't tested robojumper's New Target Icons but it looks like some really useful mod to quickly identify enemies on the target's list.

BTW.

There have been some updates so the Infiltration Time mod is a bit different, but you get the idea.
