Full Override on an ABA fruit-flavored MEC gives strange results

Post by hermescostell »

*******THIS IS NOT A TRUE BUG REPORT ********************

But rather is a heads-up if/when others raise this issue. It appears that a specialist can be offered to run a Full Override on MECs which aren't supported. I bet there's something in the code which asks "is it a MEC?" and if yes, then it offers up the ability. Then when the ability actually fires, it checks to see which particular kind of MEC this is, and when it doesn't find it on the list it's expecting (due to it being over in the non-supported ABA module) then it presents the player with a mystifying screen where neither hacking "choice" shows up, but the UI is still there.

In my case I had ABA installed, and this was a "Hazard Mec" https://derbk.com/abetteradvent/mec/. Again - I'm totally clear NOW that this module wasn't LW2 compatible. In retrospect I'm not even totally sure how I ended up at this juncture... and I'm not saying that I expect LW2 to support modules like ABA. What I'm trying to do is to shed light on a fairly minor issue which somebody may also raise at some later point, which I assume probably never even shows up if you're loading up the right modules.
