Hacked MEC didn't drop his loot

This may be a base game issue, but since LW2 adds a bunch of loot maybe it's more noticeable? Not sure.
1) LW2 1.0
2) PC Windows 10
3) Shouldn't be anything relevant...
4) Hacked a MEC that had a loot icon, a few turns passed that involved firing its missiles... when I didn't activate any more pods, I shot it with a laser shotty. No loot dropped.
5) I believe I have a pre-hack savegame? I also have a screenshot of the MEC corpse, but that's probably not as helpful as I had originally thought.
