Full override bug?

Post by zljchris »

Hi there,
Here are lists of thing you might need:

1) LW2 v1.4
2) Windows 10
3) Perfect Info; Preview line of sight; Loot indicator; Black market usage; Kill counter; Gotcha again; Quick end turn; Yet another F1; Evac All; Mod config menu (I don' think any of these matters tho)
4) I tried full override with the 'reprogramming' option on a sectopod in this save file. It succeeded, but at the end of the mission, my number of mec in this region did not go up by 1. Also, I got the sectopod corpse anyways. According to the wiki, it says in order to get the mec at the end of the mission, it has to be a mission that you can collect corpse. But the mission I was running was a HQ, and indeed fulfill the requirement. I wonder what exactly criteria that I need to meet so I can get a mec? And is it possible at all to get a sectopod?

Thank you.

PS: I read a bunch of threads in another forum, posting very similar questions about this full override mechanics. So it seems like this is a pretty common question. It will be great if you guys can address this in the following patch note.

I think you only get a resistance MEC if the unit you hack is a MEC. It sounds like you used full override on a sectopod.

Correct, you'll only get a mec if you hack a mec. You will get the appropriate wreck for anything else, in this case a sectopod.

From the full description text:

Full Override is a special hack action usable against enemy robotic units.
It has one charge that is only expended if a successful override occurs.
Requires one action and ends the soldier's turn.
The first hack option, Command Enemy, will grant control of the robotic unit for the duration of the mission.
The second hack option, Master Enemy, also grants a stat bonus for the rest of the mission for all robots, and will permanently transfer any MEC units to the Resistance.
If the Master Enemy hack succeeds, and the MEC and the specialist both survive the mission, the MEC will follow new programming and make its way to a Resistance base, where it will serve the Resistance. It does not need to be evacuated when the mission ends.

Although the last bit is stale since 1.3 :) The mec *does* need to evac now.
