Mind control causes squad-wide panic?

Bug or feature?
Sectoid mind-controls a squaddie, and then the rest of the squad panics. Wipe follows. If it is feature, i would like to get rid of it. Point me to the .ini please.

It's a feature, and a vanilla one at that.

Even in vanilla, getting a guy mind-controlled causes will checks for panic in his mates.

Well, this seemed like less a "check" and more like a certainty. Is there a will-check modifier that is getting out of control?
