Single class squads?

Anyone tried using a medium to large sized squad when all members are from the same class? How was it? Thinking of building an all ranger squad as a general purpose team just to see how it pans out....

I've tried a few quite successfully but usually blend. Ranger is definitely high up there if you're doing single class squads, but I would kind of advice to take a Specialist along, if nothing else for hacking and patching the Rangers up, and it can be OW-Ranger light.

I had a very successful 5 man response team with a Specialist, 3 Rangers and a Shinobi.

I once did a 4 Gunners, DFA Sharpshooter, Support Grenadier Troop Column. 3 Saturation Fire, a Shredder and 4 Hail of Bullets made the mission trivial, specially since no timer allowed me to refresh the cooldowns. Would repeat with 6 gunners if I had them.

However what I really want to try is having a full squad of Shinobis going Fleche all over the place.

I'm doing a playthrough now on Veteran that is 100% Grenadiers. It's a little bit of a rough start until you get some perk upgrades happening. I'm almost at the network tower which should be interesting, and then the HQ will be bonkers. At least I'll be able to pack a couple of strong supports.

My impression so far is that it probably won't scale to much higher difficulty, would likely be a disaster on Legend.

But finally I have a use for Needle Grenades!

Also I'm thinking of trying a full roster of Gunners if this doesn't work out. Hurricane of Bullets?

I've also thought about something like pure shinobi, but I'm not sure you'd survive a HQ... maybe though.
