Inquiry; Select prior perks.

Post by Tac1 »

Thought I'd pose a fun question to stir some creativity.

As it stands, a soldier levels up, you select one of three perks, then move on. Which perks would you take if you could level up and instead select a second or third perk from a previous line, rather than going on to the next?

Such as taking Ever Vigilant and Walk Fire on a Ranger, or Combat Protocol and Sentinel on a Specialist? A Gunner with Lockdown and Formidable? What would you be willing to give up further down the line, for the sake of more further up the line? What perks do you think would work really well together, if they weren't exclusive?

I like this idea (which is partially implemented in WotC), because it opens up many interesting possibilities for creating soldiers.
Balancing might be an obstacle to overcome, but overall, I would be all for it.

Rapid Fire + Rapid Reaction Ranger? Why bother making other classes anymore. "You get a shot, and you get a shot, and you..."

All of them. There is mod for that. It is not fun to have them all.

It seems that Steam is updating my game. Whole game. Whyyyyyy?

To clarify, I don't mean selecting every perk. You have seven perks at max rank, one from each line. The question is, out of those seven decisions, if you could go back a line instead of being confined to the next one each time, what would you take?

You could take every perk from the first two lines, but this would result in you having virtually none of the later perks.
