I'm sure this is a common Avenger Defense complaint

I just did the Avenger Defense mission on Veteran Ironman. 2 of my squads, a total of 18 soldiers of my very best soldiers, were infiltrating at the time and weren't available. Surprisingly, it went pretty smoothly. Only one guy started bleeding out and I had no actual deaths. Overall, can't complain.

But there's something that really grinds my gears that I'm sure I'm not the first to complain about. At the time of the mission I had 3 different Master Sergeants training in the Advanced Warfare Center and Officer Training School. None of them are available. I can pull my psionics, who are probably deep in meditation, out of training just fine, but God forbid that I interrupt 2nd Lt Zheng and his "Get Some" training. I can send my wounded Specialist on the mission, but oh, my best Gunner in the entire XCOM project is learning to use overwatch slightly better- he won't be available to use his brand new massive plasma-gun for the life-or-death situation that is literally at our front door.

It only really made me angry because I had eighteen Master Sergeants who were unavailable for a legitimate reason, and without the guys that were in training I only had one measly Master Sergeant that I could send on the mission. And of course he's the one who almost bleeds out.

Fortunately my 3 Reaper Shinobi and 2 Psionics were able to carry us to a surprisingly easy victory, but geez did that ruffle my feathers.

Unless it didn't make it into the final release for some reason, there should be a button in the squad loadout menu specific to the Avenger Defence, which should pull all soldiers out of any facility to be brought on the mission - it should read 'ALL HANDS TO HANGAR', according to the 'Crowdsourcing Translations' thread (http://pavonisinteractive.com/phpBB3/vi ... 15&t=24448)

Yesterday I completed an Avenger defense mission...veteran/non-ironman...V1.4.
This was a first time experience...lucky for me that I read some postings about the mission and watched a couple of play through videos before jumping in!
I "thought" that the briefing notes said I could bring only wounded soldiers in addition to any available soldiers in the barracks.
I don't recall the "ALL HANDS ON DECK" message...as I also had some high level soldiers in the AWC and the OTS at the time.
Did I miss something in the briefing message?

Hmm... They definitely did take translations for it, but I'm not seeing it in any of the patch notes - maybe it didn't work correctly and had to be cut.

Well anyway I'm glad the devs seem to be aware of it.

I can only hope when they were shouting out:

All hands on deck, weve got enemies at the gate, all active soldiers hot prep for immediate combat duty and report to the loading ramp ASAP!!! Soldiers...!? Hey you, get out of the OTS and go GET SOME! The soldier replies back... I cant, Im learning to "get some," and this is the best part of the training video, and if I take 30 minutes out of my day to fight for our lives, Ill have to start AAALLLLLLLL the way over...

I bet thats what happened.

(If it's easier to implement than offering the option,) What if the Avenger Defense just automatically pulls everyone out of Officer, AWC, and Psi Training?

Thematically, who the hell's going to keep on learning a skill when the fate of the whole ship and XCOM is at stake?
