Opening a container reveals you?

I have a mission where I am stealing an item from an Advent Base. I snuck my shinobi in all the way to the item without being spotted, but I cannot open the container, because when I do, it reveals her. Is there anyway to disable the fact that it reveals her? If I did all the hard work of sneaking her in without being spotted, I think I should be able to grab the item and leave again without being auto-revealed. Can this be changed by myself in the INI files or something?

Yeah I noticed this too.
It was kinda BS, considering how much effort was spent on often narrowly avoiding all enemies.

In general when you complete the objective of a mission, concealment will be broken. It can be handy to have an evac already set up nearby to help these soldiers survive - check out Xwynns' new LW2 series, episode 2, for a really good example of a well done stealth mission.

That strategy has been a lifesaver for me: pop an evac flare when I'm an estimated 2-3 turns away from finishing the objective. Can immediately bug out when shit hits the fan on harder missions.

Yeah. I should mention that I'm also very much still learning how to stealth mission. Just failed another one tonight where I accidentally revealed my Specialist and then he got critted through smoke and the Shinobi barely got out alive. Stealth missions are hard. O_o

When you set the evac, it reveals you. I've been sending my Shinobi in solo. She's really fast so she has been able to completely outrun enemy forces the second the objective is done, throw down an evac and hold out for a few turns.

Set the Evac flare to trigger the ambush overwatch. That's what I do. Evac & full reveal all in the same turn. Flashbang the crap out of enemies and run--their limited mobility while disoriented is a godsend in the early game.
