Advent Officers

At base, it even says I have an Advent Officer in cold storage. However, the Advent Officer autopsy is Never given as an option on the research screen. Sucks because it seems to be important, as it's always in the top left objectives. So, what am I missing here? Is it a bug?
And ideas welcome. Thanks.

Thanks for the info! Pretty sure I've done the trooper. What's the min of scientists? I have four. Sooooo, probably five+ then? hahahaha

On Legendary, 2 Scientists and 1 ADVENT Officer Corpse are needed for the ADVENT Officer Autopsy. I suggest you go to Research and check the Archives there to be sure you're actually done the ADVENT Trooper Autopsy. If you've done the Trooper Autopsy, look under Change Research to see if the ADVENT Officer Autopsy is listed. If it is, the entry will have what's not satisfied highlighted in red.

I think it's one, maybe two. Have you checked your inventory via the engineering tab and double checked that you actually have the corpse in storage? The voice line may have some unintuitive vanilla triggers.

Oh, yeah, you may've blown up the ADVENT Officer from Operation Gatecrasher. Which would definitely limit your ability to research his corpse until you've done another materiel-recovery mission!

Okay, have the info now! yes, I've done the trooper autopsy. I've rendered an officer, but no autopsy. Went to see if I had one and no, I don't have an officer corpse.
However, I know I've killed a lot of them. Am I just screwed now? I should have piles of both troopers and officers, but I don't.
Any ideas are welcome.

In LW2, you only get corpses on Enemy Material missions. Stuff like Supply Raid and Troop Column. The very first mission is a Troop Column mission. If you haven't done any missions with Enemy Material in the reward description, you will not have gathered any extra corpses. The usual restrictions on not killing a target with grenades or heavy weapons apply too.

Yeah, Rendering is an option you shouldn't consider on things you have only 1 of. Rendering means to boil down into base components, and the autopsy should've been done in lieu of that, I'd say.

There's no rush in LW2 to do the ADVENT Officer Autopsy. What's gated behind it is Mag Weapons and Proving Ground Projects for the Skulljack, Skullmining, and the Incendiary Grenade. Until you're ready to move on them, I'd say there's other more important things to be done, like many other Research and Proving Ground projects. And if you happen to get to 10 corpses when the previous research finishes, you can do the autopsy instantaneously.

This doesn't apply to the Advent Officer Autopsy.

Yeah, BEWARE any research options labeled "Render". That means "don't do the autopsy, just extract some alloys/elerium instead".
I wish they could be a different colour in the research project list, or all grouped at the bottom.

It kind of feels like I'm not even bringing back corpses. It's 5/7/2035. Am I too far in? Am I stuck at this point? If there's really no rush, that's one thing, and it's okay. If I'm stuck and need to restart, then I begrudgingly would. *grinds teeth*

How many soldiers do you have? How many at what highest rank? How many zones have you contacted? How advanced are you in the Liberation chain on the zones? What have you built on the Avenger? What have you researched?

I played Legendary but slowly (have a lot of other distractions) and with a lot of mods, some of them gameplay, but it's roughly close in progress to a unmodded LW2 campaign. Biggest difference is likely due to Extract Corpses, which means I can haul out corpses on missions that don't normally allow recovery. That's likely given me more corpses and a few supplies, but most of those excess corpses I've hung onto hoping to use them to make future items.

I'm in the middle of May with 36 soldiers, 5 of them SSgt, 5 Officers between 1Lt and 2Lt.

I've contacted 3 zones, Eastern NA, Western NA, and Australia. Have a extra slot from a POI for a 4th, but wanting to hold off until I can get Resistance Radio and put up a tower to reduce the Intel cost of contacting Southern NA. Could go for East Asia or New Arctic for 80 Intel when I get that. Started the Lib chain on Western and Eastern NA.

I have 4 Engineers and 2 Scientists. I have a GTS, AWC, and PG. I have a power coil shielded ready to build a Lab when I can afford it. I researched Resistance Comms, Modular Wpns, Alien Biotech, Hybrid Materials, ADVENT Trooper Autopsy, Laser Wpns, Adv Laser Wpns, ADVENT Robotics, and currently Combat Armor. In the GTS, I've unlocked Vulture (very worth it) and Wet Work (may not be worth it). In the PG, I've unlocked Alloy Plating and Basic High Capacity Magazines and am working on the Hazmat Vest (not sure of the worth of all those).

I have build 3 Laser Rifles, 2 Laser Cannon, 2 Laser Lance, 3 Laser Stengun, 2 Scatterray, and 2 Laser Pistols. I can build Gremlins Mark II and will be soon. I fully expect to have moved on to Mag and Coil Wpns long before reequiping my entire force; they're going to be a lot of weapons handed down.

Don't forget you also get bodies from the alien infiltrator mission. I got unlucky and struggled for officer, stun lancer and drones corpses/wrecks but got some infiltrator missions where I got them, tons of faceless too. :mrgreen:

Yup, Rendezvous missions pretty much always (absolutely always?) have an Officer present somewhere.

If you get sick off waiting you can get the "extract corpses" mod.
You can either carry them out or build a fulton harness to zip them straight up to the skyranger.

That's what I ended up doing. Of course, can't build a harness yet, I never have money with this mod. :oops: Plus, when I do get my monthly supplies, what's the deal with some always missing due to unknown 'circumstances' (or whatever it actually says)?

That's the handling fee being extracted from your supplies by the Faceless hiding among your rebels.
