Do the weapon tiers have different characteristics other than just better damage? Like different armor pierce values/ aim bonuses/ crit bonuses/ mag sizes and so on?
First of all, I'm really hyped with LW2 (although I don't have as much time to play as before).
About this new tier of weapon : so it will be between mag and ... laser as I understood. Will there be the same weapons as in the other tier ? i.e will there be the full coil sniper, rifle, pistol, scatter gun, ... (an SMG of course) ? And I suppose adding a new tier of weapon implies the campaign will be longer (surprise!), so when in the campaign will we be able to get a hand on these weapons (in term of events)? And does that mean that laser/plasma will become a really late-campaign tier of weapon ?

Coming back to individual building for weapons seems like a great choice to me, I think it makes more sense and it adds more management of the resources, so good call !
They have unique sounds. I think we remixed some base-game stuff to get them.
Detailed questions about armor and overall inventory probably goes beyond what I can talk about at this stage, but in most cases, yes, we've shifted away from schematics and to individual building of stuff.
Sounds great, love the design! Are there any chances that we'll see any additional weapon types appart from SMG in LW2 (i.e. carbines, strike rifles, etc.)? If it's not the case (which is understandable) are there any plans to adress the functionalities of additional LW guns via weapon parts?
Coil is getting an SMG, but we're not adding carbines or battle rifles. We have made some changes to weapon addons. Between those and all the various ammo types, there isn't as much space for carbines and battle rifles to have a unique role, so we directed our resources toward other things.
LW1 have special types of ammo for different tier weapons (like laser capasitors mags, ballistic reaper ammo and other stuff).
Can we see something like this in LW2?

As a modder i am primarily interested in changes i need to make to my mods in order to make the compatible to LW2 but i think this would get out of scope of the q/a.
So here is the one question that is in scope:
Are there also new melee weapons for the new weapon tiers?
So there's no Spark variants to your mods, but will there be new weapons of the laser and coil tier regardless of cosmetic for SPARKS? Same question for Alien Hunter weapons.
