I need help to figure out what "eStat_Strength" do.

From what I've seen, eStat_Strength is primary used by AI units in strength (attacker) vs will (defender) multi-roll stat contests.

For example, when a Stun Lancer melee attacks an XCOM soldier unit, there are 5 stat contests made with SL's strength stat vs soldier's will stat. The number of contests won determines whether the attack is applies disoriented, stunned, or unconscious.

As far as I'm aware, strength isn't used by XCOM soldiers for anything in the base game.

I thought strength was for Melee defense. Like for example Mutons have lower stats to hit against with melee attacks and they have lots of strength.
