Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save

I often reload when the game lies to me ("this path is safe! No activations will occur! Oh hi, have some activations") or when it does stuff I never asked for, such as when you try to steady weapon with a soldier when that soldier hasn't finished moving, which can lead to weird crap like ...

Re: LW2 v1.5 is Live

Thanks, peek from concealment Looks like a great mod, will download.

And I will try to use squads more. I thought squads are a useless mechanic as Long as you don't have an officer (working on that ATM, should be ready any day now).

Here's an idea: hero classes always get to pick 2 out of 3 skills on Level up, but have double the fatigue or something like that.

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce

I think it would be too much to ask the devs of wotc to consider Long war Problems and compatibility when developing. It's great that firaxis are supporting mods and especially LW like they do, but they really can't direct development of additional Content with LW Goals in mind, can they? I mean, co...

Re: LW2 v1.5 is Live

Is this the right thread for suggestions? If not, please tell me where to re-post. My current gripe is that Management is unnecessarily clumsy IMO. For example, just let me assign a haven Manager on a Mission and let it be my Problem to remember to assign a new one. Don't make me Exit Mission prep, ...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save

Tried doing solo missions like xwynn. Needless to say, they failed. Had to learn the hard way that you blow your cover when you hack something. Too bad, because up to that Point, sneaking up to the Workstation I was supposed to hack was no Problem. But then I got drone stunlocked and that was it. Th...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save

Dunno. I used hunker a lot in XCom Enemy Unknown but here, almost never for several reasons like 1) Clock ticking, almost always and 2) Enemies exist that can still do stuff to you, like sectoids or just aoe. LoS blocking is effective but how often is that really an option and feasably doable? Is it...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save

I always try to balance fairness and my mood. When I feel really, really down on my luck I won't drag myself down by not reloading when something really bad happens. When a very important character dies, I have to admit, I almost never can make myself not reload. Maybe later in the campaign when I k...

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce

I checked out the Steam Workshop and I'm seeing a decent number of mods already updated to support War of the Chosen! Maybe this is a good sign that it won't be that difficult for the Long War 2 team to make it compatible with WoTC.......atleast I hope anyways. Unfortunately you can't compare minor...

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce

I'm pretty certain an update for wotc is rather a question of when, not of "if". I just could imagine pretty well that they want to Focus on their own game and let wotc run it's Course for the time being, then maybe announce working on Long war Support in a year or a half. But I'd be thril...

Re: Discover faceless with military haven advisor

That's not really how it works. There are four retal "buckets" that are filled and emptied separately: 1) The full retal bucket, which is filled by any rebel activity (hiding doesn't count) 2) The recruit retal bucket, which is filled by recruit jobs 3) The intel retal bucket 4) The Suppl...

Re: Discover faceless with military haven advisor

I only run two kinds of supply havens: ones that I know are clean of faceless, and ones that I'm testing. A haven is clean if it recently survived a full retaliation, or if you got a clean bill of health from the monthly review screen while it was active. If I'm considering moving a haven into supp...

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce

@johnnylump Thanks for the Long and very informative Reply. Personally I'm not in a hurry because I got enough to chew with t...

Re: Discover faceless with military haven advisor

Now I wonder, do you Keep soldier advisors to catch faceless or do you prefer to use engineers/scientists for more supply/Intel? Soldier should be your default advisor. Scientist and engineer advisors are best used in maxed out havens, and even then, only when you have a specific plan. Soldiers 1) ...

Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save

I hope there's not already a thread like that, so I made one. I had such a Situation yesterday that not only went FUBAR, but maximum against-all-odds FUBAR. I can't even remember everything that went wrong. What I remember: my assault missed two 80%-shots in a row, two of my guys got hit behind full...

Re: Discover faceless with military haven advisor

Faceless - hinder your rebel's jobs. - take up a slot for an otherwise contributing rebel. - make retaliations more likely (IIRC). . What do you mean by "hinder your rebels jobs" exactly? Rebels doing Tasks (Intel, recruit, etc) are less effective. I believe by 20% per faceless, but not s...

Pretty sure they will wait a bit and sell the Expansion and once interest slows down, they will announce Long war Support. Anything else would be uneconomic. Re: Discover faceless with military haven advisor

How bad is it to keep swapping out the soldier advisor? I know the swap means you've wasted a day of accruing more "rendezvous mission intel", but do your already-amassed points still work for you? Read above, you don't lose Points, but you can't roll for detection without an active Milit...

Psi working great in well developped Teams is an entirely different Thing though than relying solely on psis at the start of the game. Not saying not worth it, just saying it's a different Story.

Discover faceless with military haven advisor

Hi guys, been lurking for some days, absorbing the collective Knowledge like a spongebob. Now I wonder, how Long does it take for a Military advisor to root out a faceless? I got one from the beginning since I lose supplies and I have had one in each haven for quite some time now, swapping them out ...
