Re: Aim affects rocket scatter? There is no info about this in the game
The above is correct to the best of my knowledge, with the caveat that rockets also have range penalties to aim for the purposes of that scatter roll. The value displayed is the max possible scatter. Displaying both the max and the expected value would ofc be better, but getting new UI stuff to work...

Re: What is the "to-hit" crit penalty?
Who in their right mind says 'it makes three rolls' and then puts 'actually it doesn't' in tiny fine print at the bottom. :| Because I'm trying to explain the mechanics to a general audience and conditional probability isn't prior knowledge I want to require for someone to understand the mechanics....

Re: Legendary/Impossible Balance
Trihero is correct. The impact from putting more rebels on Intel early on is about as far from "overwhelmingly minor" as it could possibly be. Rebels on the Intel job is the ONLY way you can detect missions - that and the Avenger scanning. Good play in the strategic layer is distributing y...

Re: Legendary/Impossible Balance
Legend in LW2 is really meant for people who have a supreme grasp of the mechanics. Can't really stress that enough. You mentioned the first few missions getting "thrown" at you with low infiltration time. That's not actually a scripted thing, it's under the player's control and is direct...

Re: Haven Retaliation Questions
Hmm, if all the aliens were on the map from the start I believe the objective would be to sweep - that said, you shouldn't lose all of your rebels if you evacced them. Do you have a save from before the mission ended? And are you using any mods which add or change mission types or objectives?

Re: "Find A Lead" Mission Explaination
First enough Intel must be created to fill the "Initial" pool, before which there is no chance to find the mission. Once the "Initial" pool is filled, future Intel generation is added to the "100%" pool. Every six hours, undetected missions with Intel in their "10...

It's a very good "delete this enemy now" button. Certainly has its downsides though.

All other special grenades (aka ones you don't start with) are also non-infinite, just FYI.

Those missions are indeed quite hard.
Protip: hacking the objective stuns every enemy on the map for 2 full turns.

Re: How good is "Basic Research" upgrade?
IIRC it's essentially just an option to prevent a campaign from completely being screwed over by losing an early Scientist rescue or something - a suboptimal tradeoff of resources basically (like selling stuff in Catan).

That's odd. Did you evac all of the rebels as well? This was one of the retals where reinforcements drop constantly, right?

I just copy and pasted the class data ini into the Rogue class mod and changed the starting loadout. Aside from the odd loading screen, I never have to be bothered with that weeaboo bullshit ever again. Sounds like a quite odd and bug-prone way to do it when you could just edit a few lines in a loc...

Re: Incendiary grenade has a radius of 1 tile. :(
Yup. It does more direct damage than any other grenade type and sets the enemy on fire, dealing further damage and preventing any actions other than basic melee attacks.
S'pretty good.

Re: Haven Retaliation Questions
Ah, those are similar but not quite full retals. The first is what we call a "recruit miniretal" (triggered by ADVENT discovering and attacking your recruiting efforts) and the second is an "invasion" where ADVENT attempts to take back a Liberated region.

Re: "Find A Lead" Mission Explaination
Once you complete the FAL that is Lib 1, you don't need to do another one - you just need to have enough rebels on Intel to detect Lib 2, which will be labeled "Liberation" in the objectives. That said, you have no way of knowing if you actually completed Lib 1 until you detect Lib 2 so it...

Re: Balance: gunner secondary, chameleon suit
Specifics of how it all works are a bit beyond my ability to explain concisely (a lot of those variables don't do all the much in vanilla LW2 IIRC and are just there for configurability), but the Chameleon Suit should be basically as effective as an Advanced Suppressor. Try equipping a soldier with ...

Re: Do Squads have a gameplay effect?
Does the squad actually have any impact on that, or just the officer in squads are easy ways to keep officers with the same troops? It's the second thing. Squads are purely a cosmetic and QoL feature, but they help with keeping officers' preferred troops organized. And I think they're important to ...

Re: Haven Retaliation Questions
There are 2 kinds of retal in LW2: First kind is like vanilla: kill a bunch of dudes on the map before they kill your dudes and every surviving dude will be in the Haven afterwards. Second kind is new: go rescue your dudes while ADVENT endlessly drops dudes and then evac all the rebel dudes and sold...

Hmm. Sounds like it has something to do with the "kill 1 civvie per turn in fog" behavior, like its not counting as an action on the part of the pod.

Re: Damage calculation bug?
A few other observations: Crit damage from Coil rifle should be 4 unless you have special perks (did you?). One of the +2 damage ammo works on advent only, the other works on aliens only. I don't recall exactly which but you might check because stiletto could be the advent only one which would mean ...

Re: Damage calculation bug?
AP rounds penetrate 2 armor, and that stacks with Coil's 1 penetration. The damage preview and popups for armor piercing (and the display) has had some wonky behavior - if you shoot a dude with 4 armor and you have 3 pierce, "4 armor" will always pop up on the damage result for example. In...

Re: Haven Defense/ADVENT Invasion missions bugged
On invasions, some civvies are rando civvies and some are named rebels from the Haven. The latter will become controllable after rescue and must be evacced.
Not sure about the other stuff - if you have save that reproduces the "5 actions" behavior that'd be useful.

Yup, it defaults to the date the squad was formed but is editable and scrolls so you can fit a good amount of stuff in there if you so desire.
