On my current campaign I've managed to counter a fair deal or Dark Events by having 4 intel + scientist (rest hiding) in my high strenght havens instead of supply rebels. Off the top of my head I managed to stop Tactical: Shredder. And a bunch of Hidden events.

Shinobis, Specialists, Rapid Targeting Sharpshooters, in that order. I do have an Assault officer tho, but I mostly did it to see if they get extra faceless detection.

If I leave the mission up but never complete it will another Lead give me another tower mission? Because I want other stuff (like facility leads) and while free SPARK (and experience cuz the mission is super easy after mag weapons) is nice, I don't want to abuse a bug.

DFA and Rapid Targeting are for different specs of Sharpshooters. DFA is for the nest sniper you bring on non-timed missions (or 12-turns missions if you want to gamble on terrain) and Rapid Target is for Sharpshooters that came with low NCE aim, and you use them as a replacement for Shinobi scouts ...

I'd give you advice but the mission tends to be fairly RNG heavy: even if you don't activate a pod by the beacon right away, they might come at you with yellow alert from an exposed side and blast one of your rebels with a reaction. I always dread the HQ Tower because of the two it's the one where RNG can screw you the most. You can get blocked by a building without a ladder and only a window, there can be static pods, you can get screwed by a patrol doing an unexpected 180º while you're trying to sneak past, etc. On HQ Assault...

My favorite advisor is the Assault: you can Trench Gun the roaming pod (or just sit really close in a beaglerush maneuver), then when the faceless come, Stun works wonders since they're in the open. Plus you don't have to worry about revealing pods when using R&G. Still decent on the retaliations.

Well if I had 6 days to infiltrate I'd go with a fighting squad and duke it out for loot but since half of the missions seem to pop with 4 days, which usually means 3, maybe 4 soldiers, you gotta do at least part of the mission from stealth (until you reach objective), otherwise between the 3+ pods ...

I've yet to discover the first Supply Raid with any decent time left, so I always go with 10-soldiers 0% infiltration, trying really hard to have a team trained and ready for it since it regularly hits mid-late 2nd month.

I recently did a troop colum... I think Light-Moderate, with 4 Gunners, a DFA Sharpshooter and a Support Grenadier. Here's how it went down: Saturation, Saturation, Saturation, Hail of Bullets, camp, camp, camp, camp, Saturation... They never stood a chance, even with Archons.
