Personally, I've had to pick up true concealment to balance out the constant frustration with timers vs big pods. And even then, the resource grind really makes me he head desk sometimes. There are mods that allow you to get more resources in a reasonable way. I mentioned one above, Extract Corpses...

I suggest you rethink shadowstrike - it applies to abilities like saturation fire, iron curtain, as well as grenadier/technical grenades/rockets if you got biggest booms taking them to 100% critical on that initial explosion....it is easily one of the BEST awc perks. They get super hard really fast on legend. I peaked in a network tower mission on legend in october in a strength 10 advent region (this is about average at this stage in the game for regions you have done missions in), and holy smokes...21 hp elite officers with 1 armor pip....scouts with 100 aim....

Yes, a facility built in a power coil room consumes no power. A coil adds 7 power output if there's a Power Relay built on it. As far as I know, a pod never goes down in alert during a battle. Goes yellow or red, stays at that level, except yellow going to red later.

I've had those almost-never-saw-ADVENT missions too. On the large maps, just running from ingress to the jail to the evac can take most of the time limit. Wot? These are probably the easiest missions in the game, and on top of this, the risk is minimal. Send one shinobi try to get 200% infiltration, try to find the longest way around to avoid the mobs. Even if your VIP gets spotted, it's pretty hard to lose the shinobi. I did two maps at 190% and 189...

I can understand that feeling. In longwar 1 you almost gain supplies/money. With supplies you can then buy something and get cooler stuff. You always do get rewards in longwar 2.
