Re: Detecting faceless/rendezvous missions
Anyway, fleeing a rendezvous isn't completely trivial. You need to get the evac flare down before engaging the faceless pod, which makes you lose concealment. So you can - scout out the number of faceless before losing concealment and retreat if necessary - or give up on concealment right at the st...

Re: Scientist in demand
Then why bother with any sort of consistency? Forget gameplay, let's just attach randomness to everything. Throw a grenade? 30% chance the soldier drops it and dies, instead. That'd make for some interesting gameplay I'm sure nobody will hate. 12% that a reload fails and wastes a turn. Jump through...

Re: Detecting faceless/rendezvous missions
I presume that mission resets after detecting. Or it continues if you have more faceless ? As I understand it, once you get a Rendezvous Mission, all faceless active in that Region will be there. I had a Mission with 3 faceless and I lost miserably. But at least you get the Chance to kill them all ...

Re: Scientist in demand
Had a Situation yesterday where I triggered a faceless after most of my Units turn. I had the choice between firing at it and killing it with a below 50% Chance, or aid protocol my assault which it was to most likely attack. You always have sure fire Tools like nades and aid proc but if you choose t...

Long War of the Chosen sounds oddly specific. Are you an Insider, FireWolf?FireWolf wrote:There's nothing to report because the Pavonis team has an NDA agreement with 2K Games. So they simply cannot say whether they develop Long War of the Chosen or not.

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save
The opposite of a mimimi Moment: I had the laziest haven retal ever yesterday. Was a map in Chile where I had to collect and evac as many resistance members as possible while RNF every turn. I got lucky. 10 members to rescue, I got 8 of them. Took about 10 turns, always pods of 3. 2 Berserkers and a...

Re: Scientist in demand
Inconsistency is as unfair as it is fair. Bad luck does not equal systematic unfairness or disadvantage. And there are mechanisms that help you out, like the possibility of buying what you lack. You will have to do that either way usually. If you don't have to buy scientists, you have to buy enginee...

I also don't get the hate of psi ops. I started training them in august and they immediatly pull their weight. They are a better combat protocol with inventory space for support stuff like meds and smokes and can even throw an insanity or mind merge without ending the turn. And they get better from ...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save
It's less of a problem now that I have 100+ hours in, but when I first started playing the game trained me to think of the right mouse button like the "go back" arrow on a web browser. This works on every menu in the game and all the places in the Avenger. Sometimes also in the tactical m...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save
Tried to path my Snapshot marksman around five Sentry Overwatches. Camera into a two story building, game flickers between first and second floors just as I choose a spot. Instead of diving through a window into a corner for a flank, my marksman runs out into the street, through every Overwatch, an...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save
I find the real benefit to vulture is the extra elerium core drops, and being able to sell them on the black market. In both my last two campaigns the black market happened to want elerium cores a few weeks after purchasing vulture. Easily made my money back and was a nice boost to early game econo...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save
I don't see so much value in vulture, mostly because it makes most sense to pick it at a time when you are most pressed for Money. I maintain 5 Teams in my current campaign mid August and it rarely happens that I can't equip the 5th Team at least with the cheapest weapon mods available. I'd mostly N...

GTS is one of the first things I build. Wet works I actually did buy quite some time ago, just forgot. Since I amassed nice amounts of loot rather quickly I figured vulture is not worth the dough. But maybe it is.

Are there other GTS upgrades that are useful? I never bothered with any of them. I figured why buy one of those if I can buy a full advanced outfit for one of my soldiers instead?

Re: Why do Shinobi's get 5 hacking per level?
There are two separate chance numbers - the first is to actually hit your target, which is a flat 70% and can not be modified, or at least I have never seen it modified. The second is the actual Hack chance when the blades connect with your target and you access the system. Then and there your hack...

Re: First death, incredibly soured.
I also love walk fire. I use it every mission 2-3 times to kill off weakened targets. Which could otherwise use up several actions or resources whi9ch feel wasted on them. If it really becomes useless in late game, you could retrain your guys, although it will take forever.
