Re: SQUADS! LW2 second completed campaign
Infiltration time make it even less manageable, one example, you have wounded in a squad so you allocate some soldiers to another squad needing someone, fine. But when first squad is ready again ooops multiple soldiers are in infiltration with another team. So you recruit soldier from another squad...

To tell the truth, I haven't met a more helpful forum than this one. Cudos for you guys. ^^ this. I must extend my thanks to the creators of this great (again) mod. ^^ & this. I'm not sure how easy they will be after the early-mid game I'm now (just unlocked magnetics). My experience (Veteran) ...

Re: going into august
Interesting. I was considering trying to liberate a couple more along the way for the towers. Bad idea? Of my 4 non-liberated regions, 2-3 now have high vigilance (15-17). Does that change anything? Means they're useless for generating certain missions. But they're excellent for keeping Advent stre...

Re: going into august
Coil by August is the first threshold and you've met it. Nifty. The advice I hear is "Kubikiri snipers for when Sectopod/Gatekeeper is part of everyday GOp missions" which is November-ish. Working on that already. Thanks! 4 squads feels slightly on the low side but not fundamentally bad. ...

Re: going into august
Looks like you're on your way to winning. You have more regions than I did at that point, I only had 4. I wouldn't bother contacting any more, except to reach facilities and golden path missions. Interesting. I was considering trying to liberate a couple more along the way for the towers. Bad idea?...

going into august
I am playing my second-ever (veteran) long war game now. (Played eu/ew on console.) My first lw game I quit 2/3 through because it looked like I had set myself up for a long ugly slog to the end. So now the clendar's about to flip to august, and I feel like things are going fairly well, but I'm gonn...

Re: [suggestion] Name change for LongWar into RNGWar
Since many features in the game: not only shoot/miss/map layout, but also including (but not limited) flashbang/flame/combative/dodging a 100% hit/finding a mission with enough time for infiltration/do you get a starting engineer or Scientist etc. are based on RNG roll, why bother not naming this m...

Re: Filling out the Barracks in v1.4
Revival protocol is really good But combat protocol is just too good. I've heard more than one person say this, but at the same time, my experience is that (using all 3 options in different squads) I say "$#!+ I wish I had revival" 2x as often as I say that re: combat protocol. But I have...

Re: Let's talk Gunner
So much gunner hate! Yeah, they're not often superstars, but with good aim they can dish out pretty good damage just with standard shots. And h.o.b. is serious business.

Re: Number of Missions to get Promotions; Possible Other Mod Bug?
Another potential factor to consider is xp overflow. By default, a soldier can earn any amount of xp on a mission but can only rank up once. Some of those soldiers could be going into a mission already having enough xp to level.

Re: How do you deal with yellow alert flanking shots?
I try to deal with it by preventing it. Keep a phantom soldier scouting, keeping an eye on whatever seems like the most likely (or scariest) direction the next pod may charge in from. It's not nearly so bad when you see it coming in time to position for it.

Re: Advent Strength Not Increasing
It will/should. If you're worried, there's a mod . . . LW2 Info, maybe? That will show you vigilance for each region. Since advent moves troops to regions with high vigilance, you can more easily watch for it.
I'd imagine, though, that any time now you'll get some additional strength roll in.

Re: Preferred method for picking classes
I like the randomness of sending the early rookies to learn the hard way. I'll use the gts to pick once it's up and running, but by that time I'm out of rookies until recruitment gets going.

Any of the above with >average speed and <average aim. Most other troops' actions are too valuable imo.
