Re: LWotC News and Announcements

ChrisTheThinMint In the workshop about 75 mods that are transferred from LW2 to WotC. 75. Enemies, classes, weapons and mechanics. So what exactly are you doing then? :?: I wasn't aware there were that many. Don't think there's any argument coming from the current LWotC team though. From the sound ...

Re: this is awesome!

If you really want more information and be more closely involved, I would suggest going to them and ask to join their team, I'm sure they can use all the help they can get, and you'll get your wish of getting more frequent updates on what is going on. I was more directly involved and that's how I'm...

Re: this is awesome!

There's a github for LWotC where you can see when they're working on stuff actively. They usually have at least one person working on things pretty regularly lately which is nice, but they don't share much which is very disappointing since this was labeled a community thing. Seems like they're going...

Re: Community Where?

Lmao AdventBurgers. Someone comes in to ask a question and gets a response from someone that doesn't sound like they have anything to do with the project and further gets attacked for asking why the project isn't more open? In response to your #3 I have in fact modded several things myself and in mo...

Re: IDEA

Personally, the "stepping through a portal" and "fighting to save the universe" would make it feel more like Stargate than anything else and from what I've read that doesn't seem like the goal of PI with Terra Invicta. Also, the addition of more alien races and factions doesn't sound like what they'...

Re: Terra Invicta Dev Diary #1

I might have missed this somewhere, what game engine(if any) are you planning to work with and what language will your code be utilizing? Will this be a Uscript or are you using UE4 or Unity instead? I imagine at some point you might be outsourcing code help [on specific projects] to meet personal d...

Re: Announcement regarding LW2+WotC

well that is a true great shame... i've bought the first xcom and hadn't played until i heard of LW... played and it made it a better game than it could ever been... even better with the enemy within expansion... same feeling with the xcom2... i can't even begin to fathom playing it without LW2... ...

Re: Announcement regarding LW2+WotC

This is very good news, for more than one reason. I am excited to hear that Pavonis is finally going to be able to dedicate more time and energy into their personal project and I still anxiously await their kickstarter so that I can support them in achieving their desired goal. On the other hand I f...

Re: Back to LW2

Same here with 3 Chosen. Later i tried with better Advent, but when you try LW, other mods are not enough. Short and simple. In regards to there not being other major overhauls that are fairly well balanced I can agree with that. In regards to the changes made and comparisons to WotC we'll just hav...

Re: Back to LW2

Personally I'd rather see an announcement of "we're looking for associates to help us make that initial release of LWotC so our core team can focus on Terra Invicta". A quasi-recruiting ad leading to selected candidates receiving instructions and coaching to flesh out LWotC. Maybe even go as far as...

Re: Back to LW2

Given the modding community is paralysed in uncertainty over what Pavonis Interactive will do for LWotC This right here is everything that I dislike about how things were done with XCom 2, artificially placing one group over the rest [in the form of more direct support, earlier access to new conten...

Re: LW2 with both Infiltration & Fatigue Right Now

Because not being on a mission means the soldier is only performing duties on the Aurora; it's a damn sight less stressful than being in the bush avoiding contacting ADVENT while infiltrating to the next misson. But the soldier knows it'll be their turn again soon so they also refocus on the Will t...

Re: LW2 with both Infiltration & Fatigue Right Now

I can't think off the top of my head any reason for extra recovery when not on a mission if they're most likely going to be prepping for one coming up. In LW2 you have to use almost all your soldiers so in my head only the standard recovery should apply unless there's some reason for that to change...

Re: WotC is literally impossible to lose??

Well I feel like an absolute scrub because I lost once already. Given I wasn't taking the CovertOps for reducing the counter/etc. and I also delayed spreading into regions where I knew there were facilities, but I still lost once already lol.

Ok, so you're trying to balance it as is, well to that I say good luck. Re: LW2 with both Infiltration & Fatigue Right Now

Just from an outsiders perspective it sounds like the per-mission not attended needs to be changed to only apply to the bar R&R slots and then have a low setting on per day recovery. That way the guys the commander has put "off duty" are the ones that are thinking, "Why am I sitting here when the re...

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce

If there were News, they would make a new thread because it makes no sense to post News of the beginning of development in a thread that says, no development. So this is by Default OT all the time because they said what they're gonna say and the rest is speculation and OT. So this is a playground f...

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce

I'd hate to lose that. Again, interesting choices and tough calls. That's what LW has always been about, and what it should be about. Yea but unfortunately that long op doesn't give you the choice between just 2 missions/ops choosing to lock a team and their inventory into an inflation means severa...

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce

IMO, Xenonauts and Long War 1 were far superior games This I can agree with 1000%! Long War 1 is far superior to XCom 2 vanilla, but Long War 2 not so much. My dislike is based around 3 things but there's more as well. 1. Infiltration - mechanic feels to forced and doesn't fit well with my preferre...

and I liked the idea that each soldier had their own gear. "This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine," and all that. I also loved how even when I had plasma weaponry available, some soldiers were still using Magnetic, or even laser weapons... because a struggling resistance gr...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save

I play with a certain story-driven RPG kind of style. I have a core squad of 7-8 soldiers with backstories, fully customized looks, nicknames, etc. They drive my game play- and suffer the consequences accordingly. I restart missions often due to misclicks, stupid moves, just being completely unluck...

Re: Crippling RNG, no agency.

Yellow alert is a beast of it's own, I was strictly speaking about odd hit chances in full cover and missing hits that should have almost 100% hit the target. But yeah I'm no friend of it. It killed my sniper officer who had two out of a pod of three shoot him out of cover on yellow alert (technica...

Re: Crippling RNG, no agency.

@Tac1 you are not alone in LW2 RNG more or less cheating for the Advent/Aliens. I just always thought it was hardcoded since LW2 is basically a hardcore mod. Interesting to know it's supposed to feel fair. Barring some kind of crazy bug that thousands and thousands of players have not identified, t...

Re: XCOM 2 expansion + Long War 2: Nothing to announce

I guess if I were to put down my stance it would be this. If LWotC doesn't modify or remove the infiltration system then I'm not interested. The system is an artificial way of removing access to both soldiers and gear in a way that is just not enjoyable. WotC does a much better job by allowing acces...

Re: Crippling RNG, no agency.

I'm sorry that you have this problem. I know how annoying this is from the base game where high cover was VERY unreliable. And I've also had moments where very high % hit chances missed, but they were few nd far in between, as they should be. Gives you a big OMG moment because you really needed tha...
