Swiftless - see I thought that rupture did change the DoT (for burning at least, and so I assumed for poison) cause I had seen a ruptured target take damage above the max burn roll. I could be wrong of course (or the game could be varying the rupture/DoT interaction based on some other perk or varia...

Chryssalid Queen poison damage

So traumatised right now: MSgt Assault blue moves forward with no pods active - trips a Queen from burrow. She hits for 12 or 13 (can't remember if he started with 18 or 19 HP). Sucks, but that's Xcom baby - he has 7 HP left, so it might be a month in the medbay but he's not really at risk of death....

Hmmm - well if the rule was 'fire disables all active special abilities, but does not disable passive special abilities' then that would at least be easier to remember. Can anyone identify any exceptions to that proposed rule? [Also means I must have been very lucky with RNG striking burning Mutons ...

Wait now this thread is confusing me even more. Noober -> Prior to this thread I considered it safe to melee burning Mutons, and have done so when the appropriate opportunity arises. I mean I wouldn't say I do it frequently but I do it on occasion and cannot recall it ever being blocked by the Muton...

These superheavy mecs already seemed to have damage control, but it was manageable. Ah well there you go, I was blaming the Damage Control Dark Event when it appears it is innate. My mistake. All these tactical dark events seem bad on paper but the more I play the less I notice most of them. Except hunters instinct, that one is nasty.
