Yeah I also don't like how they drop on the middle But it's terrible for them to drop out of sight. I wish that couldn't happen. Maybe it's just me being a bad player, but I found the out of sight reinforcements in 1.2 a real challenge. I usually wasn't sure exactly where they were, so was under co...

That's only because your soldiers are in the same place :) RNFs in most missions seems to drop somewhere in the baricenter of all your soldiers (a point the most closest to all your guys). A 2D example. Let's say you have two soldiers (@), then RNFs (X) will most likely drop between them. __@______...

Are reinforcements on "Protect the supply convoy" missions supposed to always drop in the same place?

If not, I may have a bugged install.

Yes that's how it works now. The timer is longer, but you get reinforcements starting at about 1/2 way and gradually increasing in strength. The won't go after you if you are concealed though. Was it as soon as they got off the transport? If so, they just run in a random direction to find cover and ...

Reinforcement drop locations too predictable?

It seems that in 1.3 reinforcement drop locations on Defend Supply Convoy and Evacuate Haven missions are always in more or less the same spot. It makes it very easy to just overwatch murder them as they come in.

Has anyone else noticed this?

It could very possibly be a miss remember by me.

I've started a new, non ironman campaign and am going to try this mission at different infiltration levels to work out what happened.

I'm loving it. I really like the small squad missions in 1.3. In 1.2 I disliked the gamey 0% supply raids in and found the covert missions interesting to start with, but very easy and boring after a while.

Sounds like it is most likely working as intended but it seems possibly that it could do with some balancing though. I was finding the campaign relatively easy up to that point but there is absolutely no way I can complete that mission!

I just checked and it was a strength 4 region and there are currently no dark events active.

Unfortunately I was playing ironman and in fiddling with the save files to be able to save/reload the game it has overwritten my save of the map, so I don't have a save file of the issue anymore.
