It means Pavonis has/had interest in doing something additional.

Whether discussions continued or were productive or some work started isn't known.

Pavonis is a small and will likely keep their options open even if negotiations with 2K haven't been promising so far.

Grenadiers are a useful addition to missions when I run out of other, real soldiers on squad select.

Their grenade launcher's extra range and radius turns them into slightly-enhanced rookies.

Yeah, my preferred change would be that anyone who's leveled up starts with a weapon alongside the squad as if it were a rendezvous-type mission. It's just thematic. I don't care much what happens to the non-leveled up ones; I suppose having to go activate and rescue them is what these missions are ...

But I will grant that the randomness of getting Engineers and Scientists is worse. Having crap soldiers hurts. Not having enough Engineers and Scientists cripples. This is just not true in my experience. I've literally never lost a campaign due to insufficient Scientists and Engineers at the start....

Here is a clip of my rocket almost hit the target dead center but still doing 1 dmg. In LW1, I use rocket as an emergency backup for those "Oh crap" situations. In LW2, rocket sometimes just causes more crap. I wish they would be more reliable. Just to be sure, you don't have the mod causing cover ...

I beg to differ - doing Basic research with 1 or no scientists takes around 20-24 days. In that time you can research two technologies. What a trivial observation. Yes, it's 28 days on legend. The point is those technologies you didn't research will then require less time; it's a strategic investme...

The dropoff is calculated using probabilities that make it randomly decrease according to how far away it is from the center, but it's still within the range of 2-5 or 2-7 or whatever, as far as I know. 1 damage isn't possible short of armor/shield, unless my memory is completely failing me. No mention of Blue Screen Bombs? I thought command pods were like the 1 use for them. Although it's hard to stomach the opportunity cost of not having one of the other SGT perks the rest of the time.

And I thought lots of people with AP ammo was standard fare, but yes it's good.

Given the thread title I was expecting a discussion on how the getting the first engineer and the first scientist is too random, since they are super important to get excavations and certain research going.
