After 1.3 came in place, there was a HUGE spike in difficulty. Its getting really brutal now. Sometimes its really annoying, because you do your `safe missions` up to strenght 3 and everything is fine. You build your squad, resources, rebells... Yeah, I think the exact combination is: Legend difficulty; your starting region's starting ADVENT Strength has to be 3. What difficulty are you playing on? On legend there is always either viper or sectoid in Gatecrasher, so yes, it's normal. Last campaign i had a viper in the 1st mission after gatecrasher, and i said: Oh well, that sucks, but fine, let`s carry on...

But in this campaign, I am having a viper on Gatecrasher!

Is that even possible ?

I am not complaining, its just...surprising.

If you want to get around this in a gameplay sort of way, make a habit of packing at least one Battle Scanner on your guys and tossing one out in a direction you think the game would screw you over with a yellow alert pod. I see people being tempted to `free shortcuts` when want to be enterteined.

But to be honest, this same people need to take into consideration that spending 30-60 usd for a game that will entertain them for 1000+ hours is a pretty damn good `time wasted investment!` :)
