I did this very thing the other night, but it was in an advent strength 1 region. I brought 5 sharp shooters with a couple shinobis and specialist(in case of mecs) Being a strength 1 zone it was 44 enemies. They can get fairly intense. It was 5 pods I believe with about 8 or so enemies in each one, ...

They are referring to the left CPL Grenadier perk. It's called Heavy ordinance on a few things of documentation.

I barely use it myself since I tend to not need to, but I'm pretty sure it uses an action from your specialist.
