Re: Sectopod reinforcements
IIRC the Sectopod folds up and is latched to the bottom of the dropship.

Re: aren't supply raids just too hard to detect?
It's meant to be hard and hence unreliable to detect them. This campaign I've done two by July. Both needed boosting. They were 4 and a bit days and 5 and a bit days respectively. Do keep an eye out. I have an unconfirmed suspicion that the original display overstates the strength at 100% infiltrat...

Lots of skills require "burst weapons". A number of Assault skills require shotguns.

Re: Strategic help needed
And how is one supposed to have a 100% infiltration for supply raid (I even used an intel boost)? As I said, it seems this is now a mission that exists for no real reason. Bad balance Large number of resistance personnel on Intel, scientist adviser, scanning with the Avenger, spending Intel to boos...

It is dangerous to underinfiltrate a Supply Raid mission.

Re: I have been spoiled by Reliable Damage
It is not a 1 to 1 comparison. He is saying that having to account for different possibilities due to RNG makes for a deeper game. As an easy example: the ordering of your actions matters more because you don't KNOW what the end result of each action will be, so you have to order actions based on va...

Re: I miss hard timers
Oh my god stop saying the reinforcements are "more realistic". Did you miss the part where every single time the timer is mentioned it specifically says things like "ALIEN INTERCEPTORS ARE INBOUND TO YOUR LOCATION". Interceptors, not dropships . The timer represents the ability f...

Well yeah, I imagine the most common case is when your soldier is "stepping out" directly into the alien. You can't step out diagonally.

Re: Shotgun weapon range applying incorrectly...?
Seems like the game is calculating the distance incorrectly, and for some reason thinks your shotgunner is literally standing on top of the sectoid instead of next to it. I'd be curious what happens if you move to the other side of the sectoid (implying that the game thinks the sectoid is in the wr...

No. This would make it basically impossible to ever recover a downed soldier. Critically wounded soldiers tend to get launched out of cover so you're asking people to end their turn in the open? Ridiculous.
There's no need to heap penalties on top of already harsh penalties.

Re: Reinforcement spam has completely ruined LW2 for me
True Concealment is basically cheating, in my opinion. You might as well disable timers entirely. And a timer forcing you to rush forward in missions in a game about strategy and tactics is defeating the purpose :> And a game with RPG elements where your pieces can DIE is defeating the purpose. Mig...

Re: Flamethrower boost
Burning is a very powerful debuff in LW2. Aside from the damage over time it disables all actions. The AI reacts to it by running back and forth, which i highly exploitable via overwatch. Try starting a fight by ambushing a whole pod with the flamer, you basically win as soon as you confirm the abi...

"You get corpses from missions you don't evac from" is wrong. The only missions you get corpses from are ones that have "Enemy Materiel" listed under the rewards.

Re: Why I don't like Timers (and a suggestion)
Adding turns with better infiltration is silly. You're already effectively getting more time by having fewer enemies to go through, so why compound that by giving you EVEN MORE time? The end result would either be missions that are impossible to shoot through on anything less than 200% infiltration,...

Re: Why I don't like Timers (and a suggestion)
Because, as every single mission states at the halfway point, they know that the SKYRANGER is in the area. So they are sending INTERCEPTORS (not troop ships) to shoot it down. They know this because while your soldiers can generally hide on the ground, your huge troop transport cannot. This is why t...

Also note that YOU know where the enemy is in fog of war by carefully inspecting areas which your soldiers are allowed to move to and noticing "hey I can't stand on this side of the doorway over there I WONDER WHY".

Lightning Reflexes is changed from Long War 1 and I would suggest reading its (extended) description before you proclaim it isn't working as intended. As for Ready For Anything, it's not even available to XCOM any more. It's now just what Sentries do.

It doesn't matter because the possible outcomes of three separate rolls can be collapsed down into a single roll using maths. At worst, there's a small rounding error.

Incidentally, does that PCS actually IGNORE 25 dodge, or does it SUBTRACT 25 dodge, potentially giving negative dodge and giving a chance to turn a miss into a graze?
