Re: WotC is literally impossible to lose??
Nice, I think I wanna do a playthrough where everyone (that can) uses a different primary weapon than the usual. So almost everyone is using a shotgun, except for Assaults, which I guess will use SMGs because Rifle Assaults are a thing. Those who can't switch, will use pistols. Except for Gunner Sup...

Re: Mid-campaign thoughts
My biggest beef with Psi is that it's a logistics headache. 1st : it strains your supplies. It's $30 for Psionics and $150 for the building. It also needs power, so you can't have it and a GTS+AWC unless you luck out on a PoI. It also requires recruits, that's $20 a pop in Legendary and it's not lik...

Re: That advent assault on liberated region
I go about like I go about my Terror (Haven Siege?) and Intel Raids, with a fast team that uses consumables and cooldowns to wipe out as many enemies on the ground as quick as possible. If you reduce the number of enemies on the ground then the RNF won't be as bad and you can advance towards the bea...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save
Vulture pays for itself eventually (excess elerium cores and other stuff), but it can take a while. It does however help a lot in getting your "gun soldiers" better equipped, aka. magazines and autoloaders. I prefer to build Power Relay > Resistance Comm first tho, because I think getting ...

Try Facilities. I think the rulers guard those now. Also I remember seeing them before in Troop Columns.

Don't you still deal like 20dmg? Some T3 ADVENT survive it.8wayz wrote:but you will still automatically kill your target.

Re: How do you plan/follow your new campaigns?
Should be obvious that if you play on a lower difficulty and use mods to make the game easier (or convenient, if you want to call Commander's Choice that) you go about your early game in a different way. I wouldn't go around suggesting a playstyle that I haven't checked myself for the conditions ano...

Maybe if HI counts when the enemy is exposed, which doesn't explicitly says and haven't tested yet.

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save
Honestly I'm at a point where I basically want things to go south so I can test new situations for a guide project I'm planning. I've narrowed it down to: - Reloading out of bugs and UI errors. Also I want saves to submit to the bug forum. E.g. Liberation can break some missions from loading. - Misc...

Re: How do you plan/follow your new campaigns?
That'd be like a guide-lenght if I were to elaborate so I'll stick to my base plan. How do you plan...? : In Legendary my priority is expansion and to stay on top of weapon tech. So I try to boost very few select missions and I buy scientists to keep up with research. Priority being the weapon techs...

Re: LW2 1.5 Assault Builds
PS: That's what I used for my last Gatecrasher's Assault (13 mobility, average aim, 7hp). She's a MSgt now and she basically bailed me out of a messy double giant pod activation in the Psi Gate mission by stunning something like 10/11 targets for 3 actions. She was kinda crappy up until Stun Gunner,...

Re: LW2 1.5 Assault Builds
My build for Low Aim and Low Mobility Assaults: Lightning Reflexes : too good for the rest of the team and this soldier needs to keep moving forward. Close and Personal : the range you'll shoot at. Stun Gunner : now you get great odds to hit with Stun when out of shotgun range. Extra Conditioning : ...

Re: Post campaign feedback
I think in the end if you want to make a Holotarget Sharpshooter, you actually have to pick a rookie with extremely high aim so that he can overcome low cover and not use them as a pseudo scout as the middle tree would suggest. Pair them up with Sappers and Demogunners so that they can clear the hig...

Re: Trouble identifying enemies from sound
Direction but not distance. And it isn't super accurate because I think they make they sound before moving, not at the destination. But it helps to sort of recognize which sides you want to have cover against and where you want your shinobi to hang around.

You are beggining to infuriate me every time you post. It's always the same: "it's bad luck, not that I'm not good at the game". Everybody has gotten hit at 10%, everybody misses an 80% at least once per mission (I practically count on it) and everybody has graced a 95%. https://s1.postim...

Re: Trouble identifying enemies from sound
Distinguishing the sounds comes from experience: clanking for mechs, slithering for snakes, tipper tapper for sectoid, etc. Someone already described them well. I play with regular stereo headphones, and what I do to tell the direction they're coming is that just as the sound is playing, I swivel th...

Re: Back to LW2
I killed the 3 Chosen and started a new 1.5 LW2 campaign. I felt I had already done everything at that point and was gonna win anyways even if I was encountering sectopods all over the place.

Yeah Concussion has zero effect on friendlies and objectives. Still gotta check against prisoners. I suspect that it can trigger car explosions tho (the "it's gonna blow up" sparks stage tho), must check too.

Re: Concussion Rocket?
Well so far it has provided ok results. Proved useful on a couple crutch moments where I had bitten more than I could chew and I just couldn't handle some enemies efficiently. So I gave them smoke but stunned/disorient in exchange. Again, it helps to bring a composition that isn't super reliant on s...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save
At higher activity (even very light) it's easy to get caught in a prolonged firefight so i like to be able to destroy the relay without fighting, even if i might end up killing a pod or two before taking the relay if it looks possible/easier. Trying to sneak a mission with a higher number of enemie...

Re: Mimimi moments, or no regrets when reloading a save
Should have engaged pods instead of trying to sneak the relay. You get 12 turns. Maybe you could have wasted a pod with a flamethrower, who knows. I stopped trying to be smart and I just brute force all missions except kill VIP on low timer.

Re: Shaped Charges.
There're some things that sapper frags won't destroy but shaped charge will. I still never even buy the shaped charges. I'd rather flashbang and hunker advance than waste a slot on some situational item. I think the item was thought for a much earlier version where you could stealth prisoner rescues...
